JR Farr shared thisThis week I was in Tokyo with Stripe 🇯🇵 We announced Stripe Managed Payments is now eligible in Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. This marks another step in building the internet’s economic infrastructure. Managed Payments is our new merchant-of-record solution where we handle global tax compliance, fraud, disputes, checkout, and even customer support. Japan is one of the most dynamic markets in Asia Pacific, with cross-border payment volume on Stripe growing 62% in 2024. It was inspiring to meet with gaming studios, AI startups, and global brands in Tokyo. The energy here is unmatched, and it’s clear Stripe has an important role to play. ジェイアール・ファー

This week at Stripe Tour New York we had the chance to share some of our most exciting product updates for SaaS platforms. One of the areas we continue to invest in is our embedded components suite – popular amongst platforms of all verticals and sizes. We now offer 28 (yes, 28!!) unique components to help platforms build new, fully white-labeled user workflows with just a few lines of code. That’s a question that I suspect is being asked of many leaders right now, and is why I’m so excited about the announcements we made yesterday and today at Stripe Tour New York. From the Agentic Commerce Protocol, to Shared Payment Tokens, to agent-friendly checkouts, we are moving fast to help businesses worldwide create new commerce experiences in the AI era. We can deliver a smarter checkout, with less boring data entry and more focus on making choices that check all our boxes – from function, to product quality, to style. A key part of this is strong partnerships with the likes of PwC and Slalom to provide turnkey support and help our mutual customers not just in building their strategy, but truly innovating on agentic commerce. I was chatting with my friend (and former AWS colleague!) Matt Wood about this, and we both agreed that standards like ACP are pivotal to providing better commerce, not just automated commerce. From higher conversion to better customer lifetime value and broader reach, retailers will benefit. And consumers also benefit from better personalization, choice, and convenience. How do you stay focused on your product when model prices change constantly and you use many models across providers? First things first – token prices in one place. We can now give you a single page within the Stripe Dashboard to see token prices across all of the popular model providers. We’ll keep it up to date, so you don’t need to chase. Set up billing in seconds: enter your token markup (e.g., 30%), submit, and we'll configure everything for usage-based billing with your business model. No math, no deciphering pricing plans vs rate cards vs meters—just give us a % and keep shipping. Connect an LLM without the glue work. Instead of integrating with providers and separately logging usage to bill, use our LLM proxy.
