“Because of the large number of students I teach and mentor every year, it is not possible for me to write letters of recommendation for them all. In fact, I have a standard policy that due to the overwhelming number of requests, I simply cannot provide letters of recommendation on LinkedIn. It would be full time job. I have, however, in the past made one exception for an exceptional student. This is only the second exception I have made and that alone should speak volumes for this extraordinary young man. In the short time I have known him (nearly six years as of this writing), I have witnessed first-hand his extensive involvement with the UC community (e.g., serving as the Director of Technology for Student Government), all the while managing to balance a full time class schedule and excelling in his academic performance (3.8+ GPA with honors). As if that were not enough, his energy, passion, and focus, allowed him to work 40-60 hours/week running the business which he ideated, conceptualized, formulated, and implemented. After he sold his start-up, FreeForums.org, he continued to work for the company who bought it (commuting to L.A every spring break and summer for two years). Moreover, he has given back to others in numerous ways including a most generous willingness to mentor others and to speak to entrepreneurship groups including the Ohio College Tech Prep program and UC Entrepreneurship club. I asked him to speak to my graduate Entrepreneurship New Venture Class and he was a huge hit! I have witnessed firsthand the strong work ethic, skill, and professionalism he brings to his pursuits. I can say without hesitation, that he has made a strong positive impact on the entrepreneurship program here in Cincinnati and promises to provide on-going unique and valuable insights as he pursues his future career aspirations. He possesses strong analytic, research, and communication skills that are essential for success in today’s high velocity business world. He personifies the qualities and characteristics of an individual who will make a positive contribution both on the job and beyond. Based on my interactions with his, I am most confident that he will represent the University of Cincinnati and his future education and career choices with honor and distinction.”
