Deltek is sunsetting its Vision product. We’ve spoken with over one hundred firms debating what to do next. Sticking to the status quo - many firms have used Vision for 20 years - can feel like the easier option. But I'm so impressed by how many firms are really evaluating whether Vantagepoint is right for them. This upcoming transition is sparking real questions from firms: 1️⃣ If most of my staff isn't using the software, is that really a problem with the staff, or is there a more systematic issue with the software? And what am I paying for if most employees don't use it? 2️⃣ Are we still depending on IT or Finance to provide every data point the firm needs? Shouldn't software empower more team members? 3️⃣ Shouldn't we be able to drive better employee, firm, and client outcomes without cobbling together so many spreadsheets? 4️⃣ Wouldn't it be better if a system easily integrated with lots of other software solutions we might want to leverage? If you’re being forced to change anyway… it’s worth asking:  Is this the moment to do something truly better? We’ve seen more and more firms use this inflection point to find a system that fits how they work today and want to work in the future, not how they might have worked 20 years ago.

According to the Paychex Small Business Employment Watch for January, America’s small businesses began 2025 much like they ended 2024 – with hourly wage growth below three percent and a pace of job growth that resembled the back half of last year. I just heard a recently onboarded customer, one of the largest hospitality, gaming and entertainment businesses, is utilizing LineSlip to negotiate better terms on 3 of their large renewals. Big news: Michael Capellas has joined Altana as the Chairman of the Board. Michael brings a wealth of experience leading global technology companies, as well as deep supply chain leadership experience. As President, CEO, and Chairman of the board at Compaq Computer Corporation, Capellas helped to build the world’s largest PC manufacturer and led the company through the merger with HP to form the largest computer business in the world. As CEO and Chairman of WorldCom, later MCI, he helped rebuild the company after its bankruptcy into the world’s largest internet traffic business and led its sale to Verizon. He was Chairman and CEO of financial technology firm First Data Corporation and held both CEO and Chairman positions at cloud computing platform company VCE. As a Director, Michael has steered some of the world’s most successful hardware and software technology companies. He was the Chairman of the Board for years at Cisco and now serves as its lead independent Director. He served as the Chairman of Flex, the largest contract electronics manufacturer. He led a deal to take private Blue Yonder and led its turnaround and sale to Panasonic as Chairman. He served as Lead Director of MuleSoft, and as a Director at HP and Tenable. Earlier in his career, Michael served in executive roles at SAP Ariba and Oracle. Michael clearly brings a wealth of expertise in leadership, corporate governance, and capital markets. His deep domain expertise in supply chain - both as an operator and a software product leader - is especially rare. Michael dramatically raises the bar, and the ceiling, for Altana.
