🌏 Amazon Kuiper Lands in Vietnam Space & Telecom Amazon will invest $570M to roll out its Kuiper satellite broadband in Vietnam, setting up a local subsidiary and up to six ground stations by 2030. The move follows government talks in Hanoi and positions Kuiper against SpaceX’s Starlink, which is already authorized. Why it matters It’s a major emerging-market play, bridging the digital divide while giving Vietnam leverage in the Musk-Bezos rivalry. What’s next Amazon will pilot Kuiper services for consumers, businesses, and government users over five years, with Vietnam as a template for expansion into other developing economies.

The carrier said it would begin introducing Project Kuiper technology on a portion of its fleet in 2027. Amazon began full-scale deployment of the satellites for the network in April and expects to begin delivering the service to customers later this year, according to Amazon.
