Meet basketball player Joel Henry 🏀
He shares his role model, the track that gets him game-ready, and his advice for young people this #BlackHistoryMonth
Alongside the NBA we have announced a £10 million plan to grow basketball in the UK - creating more opportunities for the next generation both on and off the court
One thing I realized to be great at something is to do the actual thing itself. I think someone has been such a great role model to me has been my trainer, Pierre Henry Fontaine. You know, he showed me how what I'm doing in training is transferable skills that I can take to in life. And it's just made me excel on and off the court really. So shouts out to be, oh, my pregame hype stuff. I've got a lot of bangers, but there's one song I always listen to you and that's a Young Thug power. My guidance for young people, I would probably say stay playing basketball anytime you get a chance to play it, going to court and play basketball, go and do that because one thing I realized to be great at something is to do the actual thing itself. What I would definitely say this location itself, Regal Basketball Court in Kennington is literally available everyday for the community of all age groups, by the way, and come down here and face someone like me and get buckets.
