Cool.
Washington Manassas (KHEF) also recently received Part 139 certification, opening up more opportunities for travelers, as well as generating jobs at under-utilized facilities.
What might get overlooked with the deserved excitement of announcing more routes at McKinney, was the airport also receiving their Part 139 airport operating certification. Constructing a new terminal is easier to frame in what it takes to deliver commercial service because it’s something we can all see. What goes unseen is the hard work all of the teams at McKinney put in with late night inspections, training, correcting issues, emergency exercises, and developing the documentation required to become Part 139 that involved the whole airport campus away from the new terminal. Helping McKinney National Airport (DTX) transition from GA to commercial service has been a rewarding experience for our Garver Aviation team that will be a memory we will all carry throughout our careers. The Federal Aviation Administration has extended the comment period regarding Midway Island Airport (MDY) in the Pacific. This airport serves a critical role to fly shorter routes across the largest ocean in case of an extremely rare in-flight emergency. Submit comments by September 22nd. Proud to support the FAA’s work on this important initiative!
Comment Period Extended! The FAA seeks input from the aviation industry and general public on the importance of Midway Atoll Airport/Henderson Airfield (MDY)'s role in trans-Pacific flights. MDY supports shorter and more efficient routes in trans-Pacific Ocean aviation operations.
We're seeking feedback to better understand the potential impacts if MDY were no longer available as an Extended Range Operation with Two-Engine Airplanes (ETOPS) alternate airport. Submit your comments by September 22: https://lnkd.in/e9UfRFpD
