These videos and digital resources feature the Muppets of Sesame Street and teach children, families and caregivers how to create healthy digital habits  — from how to “stop and take a breath” when using digital media to prioritizing connections with loved ones. How could we best promote a suite of resources to help parents and caregivers navigate digital technology with their children? This was the challenge posed to our Marketing & Communications team over a year ago when Sesame Workshop received a grant from Google.org. Digital technology is obviously a growing part of family life, presenting incredible opportunities but also a new source of concern, frustration, arguments, and sometimes even shame. Our resources get to the heart of the matter and offer 6 habits to cultivate through videos, articles, and conversation prompts. None, though, are so simplistic as to boil down to a pithy one liner. How could we quickly pique a conversation about this important topic? Take it to the streets! In a series of videos we'll be using to market this new initiative and the related resources, Elmo and Cookie Monster talk with friends they met on the streets of Austin, Texas. While launch videos are nothing new for us, "monster on the street" is a rarely used format. While the questions were prepared in advance, and all campaign content is reviewed and supported by our Education team, these are otherwise totally unscripted videos. Making this even more unique - a completely new design aesthetic and approach to bumpers, overlays, and sound effects. This first video was previewed on Saturday as part of a Good Morning America segment announcing our new #DigitalWellBeing initiative during an interview with Elmo and Sesame VP of US Programs and Education Maria del Rocio Galarza. ⏯️ Kids, parents & teachers across the EU use and view YouTube & YouTube Kids for three things — education, fun and belonging.  We know this from two new pieces of research Google launched by Livity and Oxford Economics. A few things jumped out for me... 🎓74% of 13-18 year olds watch YouTube videos to learn something new for school 💡80% of parents agree that YouTube provides quality content for their children’s learning and/or development 👩🏫 84% of teachers who use YouTube report that they have used the content in their lessons and/or assignments Our role in young people’s lives is not something we take for granted —  we want to provide kids, tweens and teens with the space and tools to navigate their imagination and curiosity with their safety, privacy and wellbeing at the forefront. Start with ESA-funded states first: • Families there already have education dollars to spend • State portals make buying decisions faster • You can track ROI immediately Focus on 3–5 states. Learn their rules. Position your product as an easy yes. Fewer states = Faster wins. _____ P.S.
