Sneak peek at today's European Climate Neutrality Observatory (ECNO) report on the state of EU progress to climate neutrality. Quite a lot of positive developments on clean tech, but alarm signals on critical mineral dependencies: 'Resilient supply chains While resource productivity has improved steadily (+3.7%/year), the circular material use rate remains low, rising only from 8.2% to 11.8% since 2004. Europe remains highly dependent on imported critical raw materials, with the trade balance in key elements such as lithium (for battery manufacturing), platinum (used in hydrogen electrolysers), and silicon (the key material in Solar PV) all heading in the wrong direction . This trend highlights the challenges in building a resilient European manufacturing ecosystem.' Tech for Climate Action

One of GPC's Specialist recently took the stage as a guest panel speaker at Ports Australia BizOps conference held at Gladstone Entertainment Centre. This national conference only happens every two years, and it was absolutely worth the wait! The conference brought together industry leaders to share advancements in port operations, while exploring the future state of ports in response to increased digitalisation, automation and the use of AI. GPC was proud to represent the category of Maritime Decarbonisation: Now and Next, contributing to important conversations that explored the opportunities and challenges of transitioning port infrastructure to support low emission shipping fuels. Our experienced leader delivered an insightful presentation on Supporting Maritime Sector Decarbonization at the Port of Gladstone and was a valuable reminder how much innovation and collaboration drives our industry forward!

Yesterday, Netherlands Innovation Network Brazil organized a webinar about opportunities for innovation, research and development in Brazil. Innovating in Brazil is not easy, but very opportune for the variety the country poses in many aspects, be it in its terrain, people or research infrastructure. With incentives from Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), ApexBrasil or EMBRAPII - Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa e Inovação Industrial, R&D is facilitated, and can support companies to innovate in Brazil. Many Dutch companies have already done so, like Koppert Brasil, with large investments in R&D facilities https://lnkd.in/ehFA9uDS. Also a smaller company F24 Group showcased how it works together with Instituto de Pesquisas ELDORADO, bettering their technology to get even higher quality data from the farm.
