Insurance quietly supports much of the modern economy, but the systems powering many carriers today were built decades ago. Our co-founder Adam Ibrahim wrote a short letter explaining why we started Force and how we think about the future of insurance infrastructure. Read the full post below.
Insurance is one of the most important systems in modern society. It protects homes, businesses, infrastructure, and families from uncertainty. When it works well, it quietly supports the economy. When it fails, the consequences are deeply personal. But the technology running many insurance carriers today was built decades ago. In serving on the board of a property and casualty insurer for 5 years I saw firsthand how fragmented systems, manual workflows, and technical debt slow down even the best teams and the opportunity to take cost out of insurance by redesigning and unifying all of the software in one dedicated environment for each carrier. That experience led me to start Force with my team, which mainly consists of full stack engineers with multidisciplinary backgrounds spanning the gamut of what is necessary for this undertaking. The purpose of Force is really to focus on building the best technology and bringing the engineering directly into insurers to implement the technology and make sure it works. Force is the operating system for modern insurance carriers: a connected platform designed to simplify operations and bring automation safely into underwriting, claims, and service. I wrote a short letter about why we started the company and where we believe the industry is heading.
