I actually shopped at the first Whole Foods. So I have watched Whole Foods grow with Austin and be a central part of Austin forever and ever. So it's my fun moment to declare this proclamation. Be it known that whereas 45 years ago, Whole Foods Market opened its first store on Lamar Blvd. bringing high quality food to Austin and pioneering. A new approach to grocery shopping rooted in healthy, sustainable and community values. And WHEREAS Whole Foods Market has remained steadfast in its commitment to making grocery shopping easy and meaningful for Austinites who seek products that reflect Austin's values for people and the environment. And WHEREAS from its humble beginnings in Austin to becoming a global leader, Whole Foods Market has shaped our city's culture.
