Behind the scenes of the new facility preparing satellites for Amazon's space network
Amazon just opened a 100,000-square-foot facility at Kennedy Space Center to accelerate Project Kuiper, its satellite broadband initiative aimed at connecting unserved and underserved communities around the world. This $140 million site is purpose-built to prepare and process more than 100 satellites a month and support up to three launches simultaneously—helping Amazon meet its ambitious pace of more than 80 launches using partners like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and United Launch Alliance (ULA).
From charging batteries and loading krypton propellant to encapsulating entire satellite payloads, the facility is built for speed, scale, and precision. It has already supported three launches and is actively preparing for the next. Beyond the technology, it's fueling local job creation and strengthening U.S. launch infrastructure.
Take a closer look at the full operation—and see rare behind-the-scenes photos from inside the facility and launch control.
