I am truly excited to welcome Professor Majd Sakr as Chief Learning & Research Officer of Accenture LearnVantage – our new service with $1B investment in three years to help organizations and their people gain essential skills and achieve greater value in the AI economy.

A Computer Science professor at @Carnegie Mellon University and an industry recognized thought leader in workforce training and technology-enhanced learning, Majd shares our passion in driving business reinvention with people at heart, and is bringing extensive expertise to the team as we continue to grow our capabilities and orchestrate a leading ecosystem for learning and certifications.

Having the privilege to work closely with Majd, I am delighted to share his insights into enterprise learning and his priorities in this new role with Accenture. I look forward to his valuable contribution in helping our clients become talent creators.

Q: What is ahead for enterprise learning?

Majd: The future of enterprise learning is undergoing significant transformation. Organizations realize that traditional credentials and accolades alone do not warrant the knowledge needed to drive innovation and solve complex challenges. Instead, they are shifting to skills-based hiring and assessments, with a strong focus on demonstrated abilities to effectively access, create and unlock talent potential to stay competitive.

There are several key trends rapidly shaping an organization’s learning and skilling journey in this regard. First, there is a heightened emphasis on continuous upskilling and reskilling, as technological change requires people to constantly acquire new skills. Second, there is a growing adoption of experiential and immersive learning technologies, allowing people to learn by doing. Third, AI and data-driven personalization are being integrated into learning strategies, tailoring the experience to individual needs. Lastly, big data is being used for skills gap analysis, helping organizations identify areas where new or additional training is needed.

To thrive in this evolving landscape, organizations must embrace agile, technology-enabled learning strategies. This includes investing in innovative learning platforms, using data-driven insights to enable personalized learning pathways, fostering a culture of continuous growth, and building strategic partnerships with educational institutions and training providers.

Q: What motivated you to join Accenture?

Majd: Accenture LearnVantage's vision is not just about learning. It is about empowering the workforce, futureproofing the business, and unlocking true human potential. It resonates strongly with my own passion for helping individuals and organizations thrive with innovative learning strategies and technologies. I am inspired by the opportunity to help organizations around the globe build the skills their people want, and they need, to grow faster.

Q: What are your top priorities with your new role at Accenture?

Majd: As the Chief Learning & Research Officer of Accenture LearnVantage, my top priorities are to deepen Accenture's thought leadership in learning and development, enhance our capabilities through partnerships, integrate cutting-edge adaptive learning technologies, expand our ecosystem of strategic learning partnerships, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within Accenture and among our client’s organizations.

I look forward to working closely with Accenture’s global network of experts, clients, and ecosystem partners to stay at the forefront of learning.
