Today, Schneider Electric announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AiDASH to deliver an end-to-end comprehensive and fully integrated AI native grid intelligence solution. According to Frederic Godemel, Executive Vice President of Energy Management at Schneider Electric, “Combining AiDASH's differentiated satellite- and AI-powered vegetation, wildfire, storm, and asset management solutions with Schneider Electric’s portfolio, global footprint, and installed base, will create an end-to-end platform for critical infrastructure operators to improve grid reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency.” AiDASH is beyond excited to join the Schneider Electric family and enter a new chapter to help our customers reach their next level of resilience and readiness, using a PreventionFirst approach. The completion of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions including the receipt of required regulatory approvals. Backup power that's actually built to last. Our portfolio company Viridi piloted its fail-safe battery storage system with National Grid's New York Telecom team. The result: maintenance-free units that last up to 20 years, versus five to six years for traditional lead-acid batteries, with 100% uptime during failover events. 232. That’s the number of times this season that public satellites lost sight of an active tropical cyclone for three hours or more. Tomorrow.io filled every single gap, keeping storms like Super Typhoon Bavi in frame from first formation to peak intensity. That data means better forecasts for the infrastructure that keeps the lights on. 👇
Many major leaps in AI this last decade came from the same lever: more data made dramatically better models. Weather never got that same scale-up. Not for lack of value, for lack of supply. Earlier this month, the eye of Super Typhoon Bavi passed directly over Rota - a Northern Marianas island of fewer than 2,000 people - with sustained winds near 180 mph. For all 8.5 days of Bavi's life - a 25-knot system to a 156-knot peak - the Tomorrow Constellation kept it in frame alongside the six US and European MW sounders. Across all 13 named tropical cyclones on Earth this year, Tomorrow.io's satellites took 1,713 microwave looks together with those six sounders' 732, additive, on top of every pass they flew. And 232 times this season, the public picture went three or more hours without observing the storm. 1,432 hours of stale sky in all. Tomorrow.io's sounders placed 1,250 looks inside those windows. All 232 of them - ensuring the storm never went unwatched.

Meeting surging energy demand takes new infrastructure *and* smarter use of what we already have. TS Conductor is paving the second path, with reconductoring technology that can double or triple the capacity of existing transmission lines quickly and cost-effectively. I recently spoke with CompositesWorld for a deep dive into how advanced conductors are stepping up to help global power grids meet skyrocketing demand from AI data centers and widespread electrification. Building new transmission lines can take a decade or more, but next-generation advanced conductors like AECC offer the ultimate shortcut: doubling or tripling capacity using existing rights-of-way. However, as the article highlights, the engineering details matter immensely… Unlike first-generation advanced conductors where the core is exposed directly to the elements, AECC seals the carbon composite core inside a protective aluminum sleeve. This eliminates risks of environmental degradation or galvanic corrosion. And, because it is fully encapsulated, field crews can handle, cut, and splice it using the same standard tools and techniques they've used for decades. Energy demand is rising fast. So we need to do two things: 1️⃣ Invest in new infrastructure to connect new, cleaner sources of generation and storage - and move that energy to wherever it’s needed. 2️⃣ Make better use of the network we already have - which is where flexibility comes in. Flexible demand, including data centres, helps us use the system more efficiently. It increases the volume of energy flowing through the network, which helps lower costs. And if that demand can flex, we don’t always need to build new capacity to meet peak use. This is already happening, and it’s central to delivering a system that is reliable, affordable, and ready to support vital UK growth.
