Platform engineer at TCS, working on TCS Enterprise Manager — an enterprise ITSM/ITOM product. I moved a 75+ microservice estate off SVN and manual deploys onto GitLab, Jenkins and infrastructure-as-code. Deployment downtime went from about an hour to ten minutes, and reverts from about an hour to under thirty seconds. Six AWS certifications.

Experience

Where I've worked

Three years: a SwiftUI app for a client engagement, then release engineering for a 75+ microservice platform.

  1. DevOps & Platform Engineer

Tata Consultancy Services · Platform Solutions — TCS Enterprise Manager

Release engineering for an enterprise ITSM/ITOM product. Moved 75+ microservices off SVN and manual deploys onto GitLab, Jenkins and policy-as-code.

    • Designed and shipped the CI/CD strategy for the whole business unit — branching model, delivery model, environment promotion and deployment gates for 75+ microservices and 5+ frontends across different frameworks.
    • Cut deployment downtime from ~60 minutes to ~10 minutes, and production revert from ~60 minutes to under 30 seconds; releases moved from a fixed weekly Thursday window to on-demand.
    • Evaluated and rolled out GitLab CE to replace SVN across the unit, then led the code migration, DevSecOps guidelines and knowledge transfer for engineers and senior stakeholders.
    • Built Jenkins pipelines for deployment, auto-merge, merge evaluation, scheduled backup and one-click revert — every one of these had previously been a manual, review-free process.
    • Encoded server and deployment governance as YAML checked in beside each microservice: who may deploy, which environments are permissible, and which promotion paths are legal.
    • Delivered a no-code observability stack on OpenTelemetry, otelcol and OpenSearch that correlates metrics, logs and traces into automated root-cause analysis — later productised into the platform's APM module.
    • Stood up Prometheus and Grafana for infrastructure and application monitoring with automated remediation, e.g. a disk-usage alert fires a webhook that triggers a Jenkins job to prune old backups and clean workspaces.
    • Ran the IP & OSS audit for the product using FlexNet Code Insight — made the licensing case, executed the scans, reviewed findings and removed GPL and commercial dependencies from the codebase.
    • Supported other Platform Solutions teams through their own SVN-to-GitLab migrations and advised their DevOps engineers on automation architecture.
    • Ran a POC comparing Artifactory OSS, Nexus OSS and the GitLab package registry, and standardised internal library and container distribution on GitLab CE.
    • Replaced direct developer database access with a governed Apache Superset layer across DEV, UAT and PROD, with GitLab SSO, row-level security, query limits and management reporting dashboards.
    • Built a just-in-time database credential workflow using Bytebase and pgbouncer, so local development access is approved, time-bound and revoked automatically instead of manually provisioned and permanent.
    • On-call for production infrastructure; currently building the product's cross-platform mobile client in Flutter.

  2. Systems Engineer — iOS Developer

    Jun 2023 — Jan 2024

    Bengaluru, Karnataka

Sole developer on a native SwiftUI iPad application for an internal client tool, then moved onto the engagement's AWS infrastructure.

    • Owned an internal native iPad application end to end in SwiftUI — UI, networking, state and release — delivering the initial scope in roughly two months.
    • Integrated RESTful services into the app so clinical data stayed accurate in real time.
    • Worked directly with stakeholders to shape requirements and feature enhancements, and handled testing and troubleshooting through to a stable release.
    • Moved onto the engagement's AWS workload once the app stabilised — the first serious cloud work that pushed me toward infrastructure.

Built 40+ small projects across iOS, Android, Python and web, and wrote the accompanying technical articles.

    • Completed 40+ projects spanning iOS, SwiftUI, UIKit, CoreML, Firebase, Python, Django and Android.
    • Wrote a technical article for each project, explaining the architecture and implementation for a public audience.
    • Built the habit of shipping quickly under a deadline and learning an unfamiliar stack on the way in.
