TOKYO -- Japan's Taiheiyo Cement will acquire 41 ready-mix concrete plants and other related assets in California from a U.S. company for $712 million, it announced on Tuesday, looking to tap robust infrastructure construction in the U.S. as cement demand in Japan remains sluggish.
