Alexander Jennings posted thisTuesday morning marked the end of my time at Owner.com due organizational restructuring. While my chapter there has closed, I am incredibly proud of the marketing and revenue systems initiatives I led—from building high-leverage GTM infrastructure and attribution modeling to optimizing our marketing-to-sales data flows. I’m now officially looking for my next challenge! With 9+ years of experience across Marketing Operations and Revenue Systems, I specialize in designing durable GTM infrastructure (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Braze, among many) and building custom AI solutions to solve complex operational bottlenecks. Some of my favorite recent projects include leveraging AI for: - Attribution & Insights: Architecting intelligent models to capture and clean messy multi-channel data. - Event Management: Automating manual lead-routing, scheduling, and follow-up flows to maximize event ROI. - Proactive Troubleshooting: Designing AI-driven monitoring systems to catch and flag data mismatches before they impact sales. Great example here from Alex Cohen It’s great to use LLMs as *inputs* - to brainstorm ideas, to critique, to write first drafts. But when you use them to generate *outputs* - strategy docs, PRDs, sales decks - you get very bad outcomes. It’s not just that they waste the reader’s time. Even worse, it means the writer hasn’t grappled with the topic as deeply and probably understands it less well. Over time, the company gets slower and dumber. The antibodies to slop are forming rapidly, and most companies will begin to formalize them.

But after three years of aggressive AI implementation at Owner.com, I can tell you: that approach fails fast. I sat down with James Geyer on the Boardroom RevOps podcast to break down what actually works: 1. Start with data, not tools AI is a pattern recognition machine. Feed it bad patterns and you get bad outputs. We spent our first year building data foundations: first-party (what's happening in our customer journey) and third-party (deep market understanding and contact enrichment). Unsexy? Yes. Critical? Absolutely. 2. The RevOps resource "problem" isn't a problem We have 7 RevOps people for 30 sales reps. On paper, this looks insane. But when you look at per-rep efficiency, growth rate, and project ROI, it makes complete sense. Most companies under-resource the team that builds the infrastructure for scale then wonder why their systems are on fire at $50M ARR. 3. Trust is the foundation of your tech stack Here's something soft that matters: people want to do the right thing. When your systems imply you don't trust your team and that you need to box them in, they feel it. And they'll act accordingly. This is one of Steve Dinner's greatest super powers as a RevOps leader. We design systems that remove friction for good work. This philosophy shows up in everything from our Salesforce architecture to which AI tools we implement. Massive chains can. AI can be the CMO, CTO, and tech team for small business owners. Before AI, big corporations had every advantage. But now, small businesses can operate with even greater advantages, and win with AI. Alexander Jennings liked thisAlexander Jennings liked thisI've started to chat with Claude Code via iMessage, asking it to clear my inbox and do deep research on my upcoming calls. I'm now convinced that if Steve Jobs were around, he'd spend all of Apple's $3.4 trillion market cap to buy Anthropic. Apple + Anthropic would win because 1. Apple controls the perfect interface to Claude 2. Claude is local-first and needs great hardware 3. Anthropic's core risks are cash and supply chain First, Claude Code is obviously the future of computing promised by Siri. Even though it's a decade late, you can now talk to your computer and it'll just do what you say - whether it's editing videos or making phone calls or searching the web with tools like Parallel Web Systems just using MCP tools and skills. This is how Apple displaces the importance of the Google search box. Second, it's local-first and hardware-first. Apple has spent the past 20 years trying to figure out how it fits into a cloud world. They've launched and failed iCloud and MobileMe and other services with no success. Yet now it turns out, being local and owning the on-device compute is the future. Claude is churning through files and folders (remember those?) and doing on-device video generation and analysis and searching through people's Messages database locally. Models will eventually run locally and it'll all be private and avoid the endless nightmare of API permissions. Third, Apple has cash and chips expertise. Two things that are existential risks to Anthropic. Forget cars and the other moonshots. This is it. Turn those iCloud data centers into compute powerhouses. Bring all that offshore cash back onshore and buy GPU's and build out data centers. Tim Cook was built for this supply chain moment. If Apple were to offer Claude Code via Macs and iPhones, soon there would be a Mac on every single desk - including corporate desks that have stayed tied to Windows for decades. This is it. This is what Apple has been building toward for decades. How much would you be willing to pay for them?
