As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits, and to have been active in the last thirty days. Patrollers and License reviewers don't have to request this flag.
Hi, I'm quite an active editor on Wikipedia for electoral events and I'd need the permissions to overwrite files like Parliament composition diagrams and such that may change fairly frequently over time and are often handled by multiple users at the same time. Thank you. Fm3dici97 (talk) 14:05, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to be able to upload the Paintings and Portraits Files with better resolution color versions, I am aware of the commons rules Thank you. Ferdinand1996 (talk) 11:23, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Ferdinand1996, you've registered 10 days ago and have only 106 edits. Plz read the rough guideline at top of this section. I would advise you to keep working and come back later. In the mean time, you can request overwriting at COM:OWR. Shaan SenguptaTalk08:07, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to be able to edit and update historical SVG maps based on academic literature and atlas, and already have much experience editing topics related to historiography as well as using SVG editor. Thank you. Miki Filigranski (talk) 17:07, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Requesting AWB/JWB access because I mainly work in weather/track map related areas and the template has/had some issues regarding headers and other parameters that have stayed in older files that I would like to fix. Additionally, I would like to add the colors parameter to the template's invocations for files which use the post-2023 color scheme. I would also like this to work with categories in the future. I have access to this on enwiki as well. Thank you. HurricaneZeta (talk) 23:10, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am requesting AWB access to be able to more easily mass-rename and mass-update AntWeb specimens. As quite clearly shown in my contributions, I have made a large amount of repetitive edits to update ant specimen information from outdated files. I have read and understand the guidelines for proper AWB use in pages, and I will adhere to them to the best of my ability. In the near term, it appears that my sole and extensive use for this right is to mass-update ant specimen images, of which over 30,000 exist. Thank you. 2003LN606:51, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right.
I'm an autopatroller on WikiCommons with several meaningful contributions. My work is focused primarily on the vectorization of flags. I am an active Wikigraphist who is happy to take requests for vectorizing low-quality bitmap flags and coats of arms. As an autopatroller, I also help improve existing SVG-traced flags and files with bad vectorization in general, which often need to be renamed for harmonization purposes. Having file-moving rights would make this process easier and quicker. Thank you. Feitidede☆゚.*16:10, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm LightandDark2000, I'm requesting this right for my Commons account. I've had years of experience editing on Commons at this point, and I'm pretty familiar with the upload and naming policies. And I also have the Autopatroller permission. I've filed a handful of renaming requests in the past, in addition to carrying out a fair amount of recategorization work. I'd like to request the File Mover right, so I can more effectively perform my work without having to clog up the renaming request backlog. Thanks. I have been steadily making Commons contributions within the GLAM space over the past few years, these uploads covering a variety of collection areas. It would be helpful for me to be able to audit prior mistakes in bulk uploads as well as assist with other GLAMs we have in our network who are also contributing to Wikimedia Commons. File naming is very important within Museums and Archives information management, and it is a vital method for associating an image related to a digital record in Wikimedia Commons with its twin entities in other information systems. Additionally, it would be helpful for me in organising publications with individual pages uploaded that would benefit with 00- pagination so that the pages show in order. Thank you. For a rough advise, do not seek this flag if you have not made about 500 useful edits on Wikimedia Commons unless you associate with any Wikimedia affiliate, or campagins such as Wiki Loves Earth
Note: as far as I know, WMF has internal process for handling staff user rights. I never had access to office.wikimedia.org during my tenure at WMF — I got this link from Meta RfA page — so I do not know the exact wording of the policy, but I guess (unless T&S sent you here) you gotta go to T&S first. Just saying… — regards, Revi15:40, 28 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is my volunteer account, but I would also like to have the Event Organizer right with this username to organize events in my volunteer capacity. I've organized several events in the past, mostly on Wikipedia, but I believe I have the necessary edits and uploads for this right on Commons too. Thank you. GiFontenelle (talk) 23:03, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to apply for the event organizers right, this is to enable me coordinate my local events in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria in WLF and WLA. I was a co-organizer for Wiki Loves Africa 2025. Thank you. Dappasolomon001 (talk) 17:11, 28 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am requesting the Event Organizer permission for Wiki Loves Folklore (WLF). This right will support my efforts in coordinating community outreach and local activities across Northern Nigeria, particularly within the Northeast region. I also currently serve as a jury member for Wiki Loves Africa 2025 in Nigeria.
