You are invited to participate in the Destubathon of the Americas, a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! Hopefully we can achieve something significant in the month of May together! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:01, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

- The problems caused by the "<ref" has been fixed by another editor. I have taken out the links because there are no German station articles for either station and no locality article for Wengenroth.--Grahame (talk) 11:47, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

Brian Lawn (scientist): Your notability tag
[edit]The page is very weak, plus it has an IP adding peacock. However, he flies through WP:NSCHOLAR via multiple routes:
- Member of the NAE, #C3
- Very high citation numbers with an h-factor of 110, #C1
- JACerS editor, #C8
- Being elected as a fellow, #C3
I have not dug up his CV, but I expect that he also has awards that pass #C2 Ldm1954 (talk) 09:33, 11 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi, just to let you know that I'm running The Asia-Oceania Destubathon in November. £2000 (about AU$3,796.66) in prizes. It would be great to see content improved for Australia and the Pacific region as part of this. I had hoped the Wikimedia Australia chapter could put up prizes for most destubs by territory/state to reinforce the prizes, but at present it's a prize for Australia and a few other areas. Sign up if interested, I'm sure there are a lot of stale old Australia articles needing destubbing! If it is a success, perhaps next year we could do something specifically for Australia or regional Pacific. Thanks.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:13, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

West Australian Reptile Park
[edit]Article West Australian Reptile Park was deleted recently, because (from memory) after years it still had no non-self-published sources. It looks like it was put back today, but without its history. Is it also possible to have its history put back? I'm the one that asked for it to be deleted, and have no issue for it to return if the problems that justified its deletion are addressed; but the history is needed to confirm that. Elrondil (talk) 12:32, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
- I really don't know how you can tell what the previous page looked like. I find Wikipedia's instructions (Wikipedia:Deletion policy) entirely baffling. All I can suggest is add {{Db-repost}} to the top of the page and see what happens.--Grahame (talk) 12:45, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you Grahamec. The article was deleted via WP:PROD, although that isn't obvious since there is no history, nor is it mentioned anywhere. Elrondil (talk) 03:51, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- {{Db-repost}} isn't eligible for PROD-deleted articles. Elrondil (talk) 03:56, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- Indeed, I have removed it now.Grahame (talk) 03:59, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you.
- I'm not that familiar with deletion policy, the significance of WP:PROD here wasn't immediately obvious to me, nor could I remember straight away that it was done through WP:PROD. Elrondil (talk) 04:04, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- No worries. You could put it up for deletion, although some may argue that the article is about a notable subject and is capable of being turned into a proper article. --Grahame (talk) 04:09, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- I very rarely do, but yes, in this instance I did.
- There are now five citations: one is broken and one is self-published. The rest are all low-quality. A notable place would have more and better quality sources. Elrondil (talk) 04:20, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
- I meant formal AfD (although I left out the could, in error).--Grahame (talk) 04:30, 1 November 2026 (UTC)
