T'was The Night Before Wikimas - found on Teahouse Dec.2019

[edit]

Found this in Teahouse, and I like it very much, so I copied it...

T'was The Night Before Wikimas

Saint Jimbo arrives to help a pair of sleepy editors.

'Twas the night before Wikimas, when all through the Teahouse
Not an editor was stirring, not even a mouse.

The references had been inserted by users with care,
In hopes that St. Jimbo[who?] soon would be there.

Most editors were nestled all snug by their beds,[citation needed]
While visions of new articles danced in their heads.
When out from a keyboard there arose such a clatter
I sprang to my screen to see what was the matter.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a question on sources and how to use them well here . . .

Seasonal greetings from all at the Teahouse! Nick Moyes (talk) 00:48, 24 December 2019 (UTC) Maresa63 (talk) 16:02, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Subpage

[edit]

Hi, I've moved Benutzerin:Maresa63/MemoBoard to User:Maresa63/MemoBoard. On en-wiki, the former appears as an article page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:31, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Jimfbleak: Hi, thank you for the move. I've tried to create a subpage using the following script copied from deWP. Maybe the hickup occured due to prefix "Benutzerin", which I now changed to "User". Something else wrong with the code? Regards, Maresa63 (talk) 19:04, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

<inputbox>

prefix=User:Maresa63/
</inputbox>
I'm no expert on coding, but "Benutzerin" on en-wiki is, of course, treated as just another word, unlike the special term "User". I can't see why your script wouldn't work as written, but I have no expertise in that area Jimfbleak - talk to me? 20:19, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK, thought so as well. Next time I use the script, I'll watch closely what happens. --Maresa63 (talk) 21:17, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited FedCon, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Grace Park, Michael Hogan and Brian Muir. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:30, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Organized Labour September Editing Event

[edit]

You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!

The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. We have confirmed collaborations with Wikipedia language editions in English, Dutch, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and French. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!

This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!
