  • A Collaborative Perception Framework for Intelligent Transportation System Applications

Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress (ITS 2005)

Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and Cybercars applications are moving towards vehicle infrastructure cooperation. In such scenario, information from vehicle based sensors, roadside based sensors and a priori knowledge is generally combined thanks to wireless communications to build a probabilistic spatio-temporal model of the environment. Depending on the accuracy of such model, very useful applications from driver warning to fully autonomous driving can be performed. In this paper, we…

In this paper, we propose a framework for data acquisition, spatio-temporal localization and data sharing. Such system is based on a methodology for integrating measures from different sensors in a unique spatio-temporal frame provided by GPS receivers. Communicant entities, i.e. vehicles and roadsides exhibit and share their knowledge in a database using network access. Experimental validation of the framework was performed by sharing and combining raw sensor and perception data to improve a local model of the environment. Communication between entities was based on WiFi ad-hoc networking.

  • Using managed code in an unmanaged application.

Well, with IJW, you can make an executable image (.exe or .dll) with both unmanaged and managed code inside, and allows interoperability between them. For instance, you make an IJW DLL with managed code, and export an unmanaged class or function that uses the managed code. When you will load this DLL in your unmanaged process (via __declspec(dllimport) or LoadLibrary()), the CLR will load the managed image inside and will allow you to use the managed code from your unmanaged process. So, to use…

So, to use your managed code from the unmanaged process, you just have to make the proper wrapper. But then one problem comes: you can't have managed type members in an unmanaged class.

  • Geometrical Model to Drive Vision Systems with Error Propagation

Proceedings of the International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARV 2004)

Localization with respect to a reference model is a key feature for mobile robots. Urban environment offers numerous landmarks that can be used for the localization process. This paper deals with the use of an environment model stored in a geographic information system, to drive a vision system i.e. highlights what to look for and where to look for. This task is achieved by propagating uncertainties along the image acquisition system to highlight some region of interest in the image.
