A little more about me:

• I enjoy sharing my two cents when needed through pairing, coaching(to enable others to think for themselves & eventually be more independent), mentoring(I have been doing probono coaching & mentorship here for a while now), or even just being a sounding board

• From building MVPs to working on large-scale Ruby on Rails apps, as a software engineer:

  • I have experience with

    • Building and Leading projects from scratch
    • Using Hotwire, Packs-Rails, Sorbet, Rails engines, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Redis etc.,
    • Improving performance and observability of Rails apps(using Datadog, Redash, New Relic etc.,)
    • Enhancing, maintaining, debugging, refactoring Rails apps in ways that reduce costs for future change

  • I care about(in addition to what's previously mentioned above)

    • Problem solving using different mental models(first principles, systems thinking, out of the box, second order etc.,) based on the situational context, current company stage and related priorities
    • Having a shared team vision & agreeing on shared mental models as that genuinely creates a better team chemistry through involvement & whose byproduct is more naturally one where the sum of the whole is greater than the parts
    • Being product minded
    • Creating an environment where feedback & open ended conversations can happen more easily in teams such that it allows us to improve faster & keep our blindspots & unconscious biases in constant check as part of a continuously learning organisation
    • Collaborating with different stakeholders(including members of other teams & end users) to better serve everyone

• There is a saying failure can teach you a lot more than success. Having worked in International teams(based in Singapore, UK and currently Germany) for 7+ years has taught me(some the hard way) a lot about what key ingredients make great international teams.
