Hi, I'm Cafer 👋

🚗 Researcher, Developer, and Lecturer focused on AI for Mobility, Traffic Simulation, and Autonomous Systems
PhD-level researcher and current Lecturer of "Digital Systems Modeling with Generative AI" at Cornell University. I specialize in building AI-powered, scalable systems for intelligent transportation, mobility modeling, smart city applications, environmental modeling, and connected autonomous vehicles. Passionate about combining rigorous systems thinking with practical, open-source development.

💡 Currently expanding into Large Language Models (LLMs), generative agents, and deep learning to enhance mobility simulations, routing intelligence, and digital twin frameworks for smart cities.

🔍 Areas of Interest & Collaboration

I'm actively open to collaboration, research partnerships, or co-development in the following areas:

  • 🤖 AI for Traffic Systems: Multi-agent behavior modeling, deep RL for vehicle and traveler simulation
  • 🚘 Autonomous Vehicles: Multi-vehicle collaborative driving, motion planning, trajectory optimization
  • 📊 Traffic Modeling & Optimization: Vehicle routing, dynamic traffic assignment, operations research
  • 🛠️ Open-Source Simulation Tools: SUMO-based frameworks, traffic control APIs, agent-based extensions
  • 🌐 Multi-Resolution Modeling: Integrated microscopic and macroscopic traffic flow simulations
  • 🧠 Generative AI & LLMs: Memory-aware agents, BERT/GPT for travel demand modeling, AI-based behavior generation
  • 🛰️ Digital Twins & Smart Cities: Real-time mobility simulations, emissions modeling, IoT-data integration
