- π©π»ββοΈ I'm a junior healthcare professional by training, but currently looking for work in non-clinical domains
- A techy geek with many hobbies, based in ππ° Hong Kong, SAR
- Lifelong learner driven by curiosity
- AKA: BurgeonLab or APERTURE2IRIS
- Technical writing (documentation/wiki) for open source projects
- en/zh_HANT translations
- Creating my first public, open source Hugo widget with accompanying documentation site
- Incorporating Indieweb into my primary blog (burgeonlab.com) with tools like Indiekit, Webmention.io, and Telegraph
This is my personal site and main blogging outlet where I write about mostly tech related topics; but I plan to expand on that and make it truly my personal hub that can connect with others using Indieweb principles. It runs on Hugo, which is my favourite CMSβyou can learn more about the technical aspects on the blog's README.
This was my first blog and runs on self-hosted WordPress. I didn't enjoy my experience of using WP (hence switching to Hugo), but the process was invaluable. It allowed me to learn from experience, building a foundation for basic web development skills (like improving page performance, CDN integration, HTML/CSS tweaks, blog writing and SEO best practices, etc). I don't write here often though and I'm considering if I should consolidate it with BurgeonLab.
This is will be the place I share my photography-related content (it's under construction). I'm an avid hobbyist photographer and it's my biggest hobby. Ever since I left the Adobe ship (user for over 15y), I no longer have a portfolio up online. I plan to use Hugo to share my portfolio and also write blogs about my gear, processes, etc.
- Free open source software (FOSS) and raising awareness for privacy-centric services
- Web dev and blogging (experience with Hugo (static site generator) and self-hosted WordPress)
- Digital and film photography (favourite genres: street, urban, macro) & moving to FOSS post-processing options post-Adobe era
- Speciality coffee / manual filter & espresso (a "home barista" if you will!)
- Home lab / self-hosting with a Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB running DietPi
- Android + macOS and occasionally Linux Mint on my retired Macbook Air 13" (2012)
- Hiking / cycling / city walks / Formula 1
- Looking for work that combines my tech interest with medical background
- Getting accustomed to being a 'sustainable blogger' (i.e. keeping up with posts without long periods of absences), exploring static web development with Hugo
- Transitioning my digital reliance towards more privacy-friendly options, moving away from Big Tech (enshittification) and US-based services in general
- Learning basic Python for data science
- Fine-tuning my personal knowledge management (PKM) system using Obsidian
- Setting up a home-lab with a RPi4B (8GB) running Docker via Portainer
Note
I'm in the process of migrating my workflows and repos from GitHub to SourceHut (sr.ht) & Codeberg.
