This is just a gift, it lets me run this on crippled hosting where I don't have shell access to git ;)
It works at least as far as you've gotten on this branch, and was a lot easier to separate into a class with the new structure in the "py3" "branch" -- however, I haven't actually tested it in py 3.x yet, so feel free to reject.
