Description
Description
The llmware repository contains a very rich and comprehensive README, but its length and density make it difficult for new users to quickly understand where to start and how different components fit together.
Observed Issues
- README is extremely long and overwhelming for first-time users
- Multiple sections overlap in purpose (Getting Started, Quick Start, Features, Examples)
- Important links (examples, videos, docs, models) are scattered
- Advanced content (benchmarks, release notes, white papers) dominates early onboarding
- Installation and setup steps are buried deep within the document
- Navigation becomes difficult despite the Table of Contents
Suggested Improvements
- Add a “Start Here” / Beginner Path section at the top
- Split README into clear tiers:
- Overview & Value Proposition
- Quick Start (minimal example)
- Core Concepts (RAG, Agents, Models)
- Examples & Use Cases
- Advanced Topics & Benchmarks
- Move long sections (Release Notes, White Papers, Benchmarks) to:
/docsor separate markdown files- Add a short Architecture / How llmware works diagram or explanation
- Highlight recommended setup paths (Laptop, Local CPU, Enterprise)
- Improve markdown consistency and reduce visual clutter
- Add badges (PyPI version, OS support, License, Discord)
Expected Outcome
- A cleaner, more approachable README that:
- Reduces onboarding friction
- Helps users quickly find relevant examples
- Makes llmware more accessible to developers new to RAG and Agents
- Improves long-term maintainability of documentation
Additional Notes
I’d be happy to help refactor the README or submit a PR with a reorganized structure if that’s helpful.
