Hi, I'm Mohamed 👋

I'm a Product Manager who builds. I ship products at work, and I tinker on the side, because the best way to understand users is to be one yourself. My day job is at Atlassian, where I help driveing Jira Service Management enterprise growth. Outside of work, I like to get my hands dirty building things that solves problems that drive me crazy. My latest side project is Switchly.dev, a small API I built to solve a problem I kept running into: LLM costs spiralling out of control. It classifies your AI requests and routes them to the most cost-efficient model without sacrificing quality. Think of it as an LLM air traffic controller. Before that, I built PARKnRIDE because I was frustrated by the lack of parking near train stations (now 5K+ monthly users across NSW), and MedsConnect because my elderly non-English-speaking parents needed a better way to manage their medications (pre-seed funded through MasterCard's startup competitions).

👋 About Me

• Product Manager at Atlassian → grew JSM Assets MAU (2x growth rate QoQ), boosted premium subscriptions by 5.4%, and led two generative AI initiatives.
• Previously Product Mmanager at Xero → led a platform upgrade serving 300K+ customers and reduced support inquiries from ~600/month to fewer than 10.
• Tinkerer at heart: → Built Switchly.dev (LLM routing API) · PARKnRIDE (mobility, 5K+ users) · MedsConnect (healthtech, pre-seed funded).
• Background in healthcare IT and pharmaceutical sciences → worked briefly as a pharmacist, pharmaceutical saled, then I shifted gears to the world of IT, I have implemented software in large tertiary hospitals before landing in product management.
• I have attended AI Product Management Bootcamp (Marily Nika) and Reforge Product Strategy course.

🧠 What I Believe About AI Products

• Embed AI in workflows, you don't need to force users to use a chat bot!
• Pick the right task for AI to solve, if it can be solved by a simple rule based algorithm and interface, don't use AI!
