When i try to sign up for github copilot free (Start Using Copilot Free) from the github settings , the site never loads.
I have previously used paid subscription of Github copilot but i dont want to renew it and use the free version instead.

• Includes up to 50 total chat requests per month in Copilot Chat
• Designed to give you a limited taste of Copilot's capabilities
• No subscription or payment required
• Intended for personal use only, not for users managed by an organization or enterprise
• Great for developers who want to explore Copilot's capabilities before upgrading to a paid plan

@davevad93 Thank you for replying. But i get the same error when accessing the link (https://github.com/copilot). I have tried deleting the cookies and changing browser but nothing works.

Hey @nikhilnair8490 you're welcome, this seems a browser/device related issue. Try clearing your cookies or use another browser (in incognito) or another device such as a smartphone or another PC.

I tried on my mobile in incognito mode, but got the same error. Is GitHub somehow restricting my account to use the free version ?

@nikhilnair8490 ditto, I thought I might have broken something. @davevad93 no it is not, I tried every possible troubleshoot one can think of from our end, and this is now growing and many others are reporting as well.

In addition to what @nikhilnair8490 has already shared, I noticed the issue in my VScode. I was setting up my code-tunnel for remote use and I thought I may have tripped something but when I checked my settings and It says subscription ended I again had some positive thoughts may be it's an renewal kinda thing, or may be I need to agree some terms or conditions freshly so that's why this is happening and I clicked on "[START USING COPILOT FREE]" and the page won't load, I used VPN, TOR, All my devices, my friends devices, haven't tried my neighbors but yeah. non worked so far. And I did report the issue.

I see @OneNiNE87, in this case I highly recommend you contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and let them know.

Yes, I have the same issue. Copilot has stopped working and I can't get it to work again (phpstorm) because of this redirect loop.

I don't think it will take long to fix it and it should already be working for some.

It's not resolved for me. I'm still seeing the same behavior. I've cleared caches and cookies and tried on multiple browsers.
My subscription was never the free subscription, I was paying for this but suddenly, without warning, I can't access it.

I have same issue.
I’m using the paid Business version of the Copilot license, but my account shows that the subscription has expired.
However, my other colleagues are not experiencing this problem.

This does seem to have been resolved for me now. I had been paying for my own Copilot but my company added me to a list and suddenly they were "managing" my Copilot license without my knowledge. That seems to have compounded with whatever this issue was with subscriptions.

Hello GitHub Support Team,

I am trying to sign up for the GitHub Copilot Free plan, but I am receiving an error message in Visual Studio Code.

The error says: "An error occurred while signing up for the GitHub Copilot Free plan. User is spammy."

I have already tried troubleshooting this by:

Completely disabling my VPN.

Checking my computer's settings and confirming that I am not using a proxy server.

Even after doing this, I am still getting the same error.

Could you please investigate this "spammy" flag on my account and remove it so that I can successfully sign up for GitHub Copilot?
