Why is the "Add suggestion to batch" feature "not supported yet"?

Here's what the UI shows me since some time:

It was working previously (I've used it many times). Why wouldn't it be supported anymore? If it's not supported, why show the button at all? What's going on 😅?

I had to switch back from the 'preview the new experience' to the 'old' mode -- evidently they're not finished yet with said new experience (probably why it's labelled as 'try ...') w.r.t. feature parity.
