This is a known delay because SchemaStore is an independent, community-driven project that lags behind new GitHub features. To fix this, you can override the old schema in VS Code by adding "yaml.schemas": { "https://githubusercontent.com": ".github/workflows/*.yml" } to your settings, or temporarily disable YAML schema validation until the PR adding the parallel actions syntax is merged on SchemaStore's GitHub repository.

thanks for the right direction, I found this cool pr about parallel stuff - SchemaStore/schemastore#5845

so, long story short:

From what I can tell, GitHub's announcement only covers parallel steps in workflow definitions, not composite actions, and I get a runtime error when I try to use e.g. a parallel: key in a composite action definition.
