Are GitHub classic projects gone? #30227

I've added classic projects in the past but now, on new repositories, I don't seem to be able to. I would use the new projects but I don't like how the UI is detached from a repository. My questions are:

We also bumped into this today. It appears from the docs that classic projects are indeed being discontinued. You can "only create a new classic project board for an organisation, user or repository that already has at least one classic project board". Pretty annoying! Especially because the new projects do not exist at repo level... |

It's unclear if they are even adding repo level projects #6229. As a workaround open an existing classic project that you own and copy it to the new repository. |

Hey, Same problem here. I try to create a project via API getting the message I have projects enabled for my org, yet cannot find where to create a classic project so that I can use API. |
