Ollama was lacking good embedding models in the past, but just recently one was added: https://ollama.com/library/nomic-embed-text
The API is the "old", not OpenAI-compatible one. When they announced OpenAI API compatibility it was for chat/instruct endpoints, but not yet for embeddings.
As soon as they have that, we can either move or keep this one, depending on how long they plan to provide the old endpoint. It might stay the recommended one.
