The SAGE Lab studies how people understand themselves, care for others, and navigate collective life. Directed by Rémi Thériault, the lab brings together social psychology, contemplative traditions, and open science to investigate robust prosociality: positive change that is meaningful, durable, and supported by reliable evidence.
Our work is organized around three complementary research areas:
- Robust prosociality: identity, empathy, polarization, cooperation, and interventions designed to foster lasting social change.
- Well-being: mindfulness, self-understanding, resilience, and the conditions that support durable personal change.
- Robust science: open, reproducible, inclusive, and collaborative approaches to behavioural research.
We use methods including experiments, longitudinal interventions, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, big data, contemplative practices, and open-source software.
Our project portfolio presents both active research pipelines and promising studies available to be revived. Students and collaborators can see what already exists, what remains to be done, and where their interests might contribute.
Prospective research assistants, undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and collaborators are invited to read our collaboration information and complete the SAGE Lab Collaboration Interest Form.

After cloning your new repository on Windows, install Git and Go, then run ./preview.ps1 in PowerShell. The script downloads the correct Hugo version and opens a live local preview. Replace the SAGE Lab content, profiles, links, branding, domain settings, and publication records before publishing your site.

This repository contains the source of the SAGE Lab’s bilingual website, published at labosage.com. The site is built with Hugo Blox and hosted on GitHub Pages.
To preview the site locally on Windows, open PowerShell in this folder and run ./preview.ps1. The script uses the correct Hugo version for this project without changing any other Hugo installation.
