I used #PortfolioDay as my motivation to finally finish redoing my photo site: https://photos.shom.dev/

I'm am a photographer and I enjoy landscape and underwater photography. I've been shooting mostly film lately and trying to get better at developing & scanning at home, I also hope to be able to darkroom print one day. Film has reinvigorated my love for photography and I've found a great community here on the Fediverse, thank you!

The older works don't have alt-text but I'm working on adding it to all photos. Please share any ideas or feedback you have. I would also love to hear stories about folks who started in digital and have fallen deeper and deeper in the film rabbit hole process.

The PineNote is here! I'm planning on making a hands on video to share my experience. Let me know if you have any questions you want me to try and answer. I don't plan to do technical tests but open to collaborating on it.

First impression, feels like a quality and sturdy device. Feels good in the hand, the texture is a kinda soft grippy plastic. Pen felt good, the writing friction seems ok, I don't want to make any software qualifications until I update the device but still happy with the out-of-box experience. The wake from sleep time is essentially instant.

@PINE64 great work on the PineNote, I'm very impressed with the hardware!

I'd like to imagine I'm not the only one who struggles with the desire to create, share, and upkeep things that I've previously shared. This feels more acute when it's a tool someone else might use.

I've been coming to grips with this "personal tech debt", not sure what else to call it and wrote a post about it [1]. I would love to hear how others deal with this, especially those working on small FOSS projects that are "scratch your own itch".

#BikeTooter sore legs and a full heart.

Rode up Going-to-the-Sun Road past where cars are not allowed entry for the winter. I was worried about battery life so stayed on ECO mode a lot, should have given myself a lot more assist ended the 20 mile ride with 60% battery. The views were incredible, will post more later. What an incredible way to experience this beauty without having to be a tip top road cyclist climber.

I always stay for the sunset, even on the days when I know that there won't be any light sneaking through at the very end. But I definitely will stay and freeze (and try not to jinx it) when I have a gut feeling that it just might. Sideways light in the mountains is just ethereal, these cell phone photos (no additional edits) don't do it justice, but wanted to share anyway.

Sunlight is streaming across the lake and washing out the distant mountains while illuminating a hillside on the left while the one on the right stays in shadow, both hillsides are a mix of green pi e and yellow larches.
The same mountains and clouds remain but the tops of the foothills are glowing with the bright yellow light and reflecting back up on the underside of the clouds.
A zoomed in section of the foothills where most of the slope is yellow larch but the top of the hill is bathed in sun and those trees are so bright they appear to be almost burning, all of which is reflected on the surface of the lake.
