Pulkit Aneja shared thisCareer Update: I'm now a content creator! 🚀 A couple of months back, I received a LinkedIn DM from Ankur Warikoo. Initially, I thought it might be an automated outreach campaign. But the message read: "I would like to explore the possibility of creating a course with you on Data Science." I instantly said YES. Then began the endless loop of recording ➡️ editing ➡️ re-recording. Finally, after 2 months of continuous effort, the course ‘SQL GETS YOU HIRED’ is live on Webveda! Spanning over 11 hours, it is currently one of the longest tech courses on the platform. Doing this for the first time meant tackling a steep learning curve, which impacted the delivery timelines. A huge thank-you to Ankur and the entire WebVeda team for their patience, support, and encouragement throughout the process. 🔗 Course Introductory Video: https://lnkd.in/d3pZa7xT Now that I've stepped into content creation, I’d love your input: What topics, real-world case studies, or tech concepts would you like to see me break down next? Drop your thoughts in the comments—your feedback will directly shape what I build next!SQL Gets You Hired | Ankur Warikoo Introduces WebVeda’s New CourseSQL Gets You Hired | Ankur Warikoo Introduces WebVeda’s New Course

Pulkit Aneja shared this2 weeks back, I delivered a 2-hour masterclass on RAG and AI Agents and the reception was overwhelmingly positive and humbling 👉 about 2000 live attendees 👉 first-principles breakdown of topics like tokenization, context-window, embeddings, vector databases, RAG and ReAct Agents 👉 code walk-through of a 'virtual insurance agent' build with Langchain and Langraph While the 2 hour masterclass provided an excellent opportunity to understand AI Systems but wasn't enough to build one. So this time, I have come up with a very special full day free workshop in association with Cloudassist Services Pte Ltd 🎯 Topic: Building Multi-Agent Systems with Google ADK(Agent Development Kit) 💻Mode: Live online session with hands-on labs 📅Date & Time: 17 July 9:30am to 5pm Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia (7 am to 2:30 pm IST) The classroom capacity is limited. If you are interested and available to attend this session, comment 'ADK' and I will send you the sign up link

Pulkit Aneja shared thisFree AI course that's worth your time (link below) I completed 4 free self-paced courses on Anthropic 's Skilljar portal. If I could recommend one that deserves your attention, it has to be 'Build with the Claude API'. 📚 What it covers: 👉 Prompt engineering 👉 Tokenization 👉 Multimodal 👉 RAG 👉 Vector databases 👉 MCP 👉 Agents vs Workflows ✅ What stands out: 👉 Covers beginner to advanced — without feeling overwhelming 👉 Focuses on design thinking: when not to use an Agent, when not to use MCP — a rare and refreshing focus 🔴 What could be better: 👉 MCP modules assume familiarity with Pydantic and Asyncio — a prerequisites lesson would help 👉 Most examples revolve around coding agents and GitHub — broader use cases would make it more relatable Worth your time if you're building with AI or just trying to understand the modern AI stack. course link: https://lnkd.in/gXvgpZMr #anthropic #agent #claude #mcp #rag

Pulkit Aneja reacted on thisPulkit Aneja reacted on thisI keep seeing it in the AI workshops I run. Give people the same tools and you get very different results. The difference isn’t access to tech. It’s how people use it. Which is why I keep coming back to Human + AI. Not AI alone. Next week I’m excited kick off Phase 2 of a program focused on building Human + AI capability. Deploying the tech is only part of the equation. It takes people to turn it into business results and value. That means prioritising skill building and creating time for experimentation. The more capable AI becomes, the real differentiator will still be how well your people apply it to create value.

Pulkit Aneja liked thisPulkit Aneja liked thisMY BEST CAREER ADVICE Let me see if this can become my shortest post or not. Morning, there was a DM from an engineering student somewhere in India who wants to prepare for PG-studies abroad. His question was: 'What should I focus on?' Here was my sleepy-headed reply to him: 'Hi. I am not an expert in this matter. So, I will give a teacher's advice. Become a good engineer, i.e. a problem solver with strong fundamentals and hands on approach. If you have hobbies and talents, definitely hone them. Do all this while taking care of your physical and mental health. That's all. No need need for a complicated plan. 🙂' I think, instead of falling for all sorts of humdrum, our students can follow this simple advice (strong fundamentals, hands-on, co-curricular hobbies, and health), and they will turn out just fine. Ha! My best career advice! 😎😎😎

Initially, the experience was positive, but it later became frustrating as the system started providing incorrect and repetitive answers. Upon reflection, I identified a few reasons for this issue: - The current retrieval system is too coarse, matching queries to the closest “question/topic” but struggling with variations, such as “symptoms of diabetes.” - The performance also depends on the dataset size; I uploaded relatively small files for my understanding. - TF-IDF sometimes selects the wrong match, like nutrition tips instead of FAQ answers. This leads to the perception that the agent is stuck providing irrelevant responses. To enhance robustness, consider the following strategies: - Expand the documentation. - Chunk large documents for better processing. - Improve the retrieval system. - Implement fallback rules to prevent nonsensical answers. To be continued… I’ll retrain my “nutrition‑obsessed” agent into something more balanced. Moral of the story: even AI agents need a diversified diet. 😅 learning starts and experience gains only when mistake happens.

Foundation models have been extensively utilized in time series forecasting, with models like TimeGPT and TimesFM gaining significant attention. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘀 is a forecasting model developed by Amazon, that is based on large language model architecture. Chronos models have been trained on a huge corpus of time series datasets, as well as synthetic data generated with Gaussian processes. 🦾🧠 Building Deep Research Agents ?? Adding think tags can collapse training making model stuck in long reasoning trajectories Authors revamped search-R1 strategy for deep research. They decoupled the entire deep research dimensions along with enhancements as following: > prompt template: proves fast thinking templates are more stable and generates short response length. Slow thinking templates get stuck in <think> tags > modified F-1 penalizes the reward to discourage omitting search or answer steps. This makes the policy to avoid being collapsed into a simpler state of generating no answer > policy optimization: authors found GRPO gets noisier in multi-step long context reasoning. PPO gets challenging as it tries to fit value function over sparse outcome rewards (Exact Match based). Found REINFORCE stays table with lowest search frequency Papers shows high promises while introducing simpler updates to search-R1. Overall I am intrigued by the findings that slow thinking could: > de-stabilise the training > longer reasoning chains > multiple search queries > often leading to answer avoidance

Cov(X, X) ≠ 1. I was working on a proof with a student when he wrote: Cov(X, X) = 1 It felt right. Same variable. Perfect relationship. So… 1? Not quite. That’s not covariance. That’s correlation. Here’s the difference: - Covariance (X, X) = Variance (X) - Correlation (X, X) = 1 Always. That one small mix-up? It broke the entire proof. Small confusion. Big consequences.

AI Tip: RL for LLMs; Real Gains, Real Risks ⚡🤖 Reinforcement learning (RL) can supercharge your LLMs; but only if you apply it intentionally. 🚀 Where RL Delivers ▫️Stronger alignment & safety: RLHF makes models follow instructions more reliably and reduces harmful outputs. ▫️Domain-specific behaviour: RL-tuned models behave like rule-bound assistants, ideal for regulated industries. ▫️Lower-cost tuning: Newer approaches like PE-RLHF deliver alignment gains with far less compute. ⚠️ What to Watch ▫️Human feedback is expensive, scaling high-quality labels is the bottleneck. ▫️Reward-gaming: Poor reward design = models optimise for the wrong behaviours. ▫️Drift & governance: RL-tuned models need monitoring, evaluation, & version control. ✅ What to Do Next ▫️Start with a small RL pilot in a low-risk workflow. ▫️Use efficient RL variants if compute is limited. ▫️Monitor drift: track error rate, safety incidents, or task-completion rate post-RL. 👇 If you had to track ONE metric after RL fine-tuning, what would it be? 📚 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gtCuJmMR 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gUQebVdN 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gKsxPpN6 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g8HFaRDJ 🔁 LIKE & RE-SHARE if you enjoyed this post 👥 Follow for more AI fundamentals, tips and use-cases #AI #AITip #ReinforcementLearning #RLHF #LLMs #Alignment #AIEthics #MachineLearning

Online A/B Testing Learning Resources A friend of mine asked me what the best public learning resources are for him to learn applied A/B testing in industry when he has no direct experience. I have suggested a few resources with him, which are also shared below. There are quite a few tech blogs on the same topic, which I will share later. (1) Advanced A/B testing workshop: This is from Elea Feit (Marketing Science professor at Drexel). She is an expert in experimentation and has delivered good lectures and tutorials on this topic, which are public. https://lnkd.in/gfuzj_jT https://lnkd.in/gjAiJ5ck https://lnkd.in/ggqkg4GA (2) Udacity - Introduction to A/B Testing: Free course from Google experimentation experts (Diane Tang, Carrie Gimes, Caroline Bucky). Good as an intro https://lnkd.in/gUBtN26D (3) Trust-worthy online experimentation: This is from Ron Kohavi, Diane Tang and Ya Xu. Considered as the best book on this topic of applied A/B testing. https://lnkd.in/g6zNZfCQ (4) Causal Inference and Its Application in the Industry: Online book from Alex Deng https://lnkd.in/gCgcjtDi #ABTesting #CausalInference #ControlledExperiments

Build Self-Learning Agents — No Fine-Tuning Required Fine-tuning isn’t always the answer. In our latest newsletter, Hari Ohm Prasath Rajagopal breaks down how you can build self-improving LLM agents without touching model training — using two simple but powerful patterns: 🔹 Dynamic Tooling: Let agents create and load new tools on the fly when existing ones aren’t enough. 🔹 Dynamic System Prompts: Allow prompts to evolve automatically based on real user or reviewer feedback. The key idea: Instead of expensive fine-tuning and slow human feedback loops, let agents learn from usage by evolving their tools and instructions in real time. He also walks through how this works in practice using Strands (AWS’s agentic framework), with minimal code and tight AWS integration. If you’re a software engineer building agentic systems and want: - Better domain accuracy - Faster iteration - Less ML complexity This one’s for you. 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dW3jtJ2W
