Apeksha Shah shared thisApeksha Shah shared thisOne of my biggest mistakes when in the gym was using my workouts as a way of punishing myself for what I ate. When I was "bad" I'd feel shame then try to make up for it by hitting the gym & crushing my body with intense circuit training and HIIT workouts. It started to warp the way I saw working out. This vicious cycle of shame and punishment that would go on for years. Then I met Mike. Mike was a 60 year old veteran at the gym who was in better shape than most guys in their 30's. After a long session of punishing myself in the gym I stopped by and had a chat. I asked him what was his motivation for working out. He said, "𝘋𝘢𝘯, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦. 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘴. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐'𝘮 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘰." Shit. Here I was trying to make up for those ketchup potato chips while Mike was coming from a different realm. I don't say this often but that conversation changed my life. Sometimes we just need a different perspective to transform the way we see things. Now I don't punish myself or feel shame for my weak moments. I go to the gym and do the work for the sake of doing the work. I go because I'm celebrating what my body can do. It's time to stop punishing yourself with workouts. It's time to start being grateful for your body. Trust me when I say that the energy is much different here. Ps. Apeksha Shah shared thisApeksha Shah shared thisAs I celebrate my birthday today, I'm reflecting on how much it’s built into our youth-worshipping culture that we have to do everything by the time we’re 30. But as I’ve learned first-hand, we can build our dreams at any age! 💜

Apeksha Shah shared thisApeksha Shah shared thisGreat managers aim to make work a place of stability rather than another source of stress. This can feel impossible during turbulent times. How can you offer assurance when a lot of big decisions–and broader economic conditions–are out of your control? Here are three ways to support your team during uncertainty without making promises you can’t keep: 1. Help team members work toward their dream job. Ask each of your reports to show you a posting for a role they’d be thrilled to have in 3-5 years. Walk through the required responsibilities together and pull out any for which they do not feel they have a compelling story. Then commit to helping them grow in these areas. 2. Focus your team on the first step. Divide longer-term goals into mini-milestones and then outline a clear, next step for each person. You can also set up a quick, 15-minute check-in at the end of each week for the team to celebrate their collective progress toward a shared goal. 3. Encourage your team to benefit from benefits. Studies show that up to 80% of employees are confused about the benefits their company provides. When budgets shrink, it can be an uphill battle to design and fund new ways to support your team. You might be surprised at how much you can boost morale simply by helping employees take full advantage of what already exists. What have you or your manager done to invest in wellbeing during uncertainty?

She was pregnant at the time and later gave birth to a daughter. Raising a child alone in Katunayakkanpatti, a village in Tamil Nadu, meant facing constant harassment as a single working woman. She took up jobs at construction sites, hotels and tea shops but the taunts and abuse never stopped. So she made a decision that changed her life. She cut her hair, swapped her saree for a shirt and lungi, and renamed herself Muthu. For the next 36 years, she lived and worked as a man to keep her daughter safe. As Muthu, she worked as a painter, a tea master and a parotta maker, and was known in her area as Muthu Master. Her Aadhaar card, voter ID and bank account all carried her male identity. Only her closest relatives and her daughter, Shanmugasundari, knew the truth. Her daughter has since gotten married, but Petchiammal, now 57, has chosen to remain Muthu for the rest of her life. She says the disguise gave her freedom and safety in a world that offered a single mother neither. Her story is a quiet but powerful reminder of what women are still forced to do just to survive and protect their children. #SPetchiammal #MuthuMaster #TamilNaduWoman #WomanDisguisedAsMan #SingleMotherStrength #IndianWomenStories #RealLifeStories #PatriarchySurvivor #HumanInterestStory #ViralIndiaStory #WidowStory #MotherhoodSacrifice #TamilNaduNews #IndianCultureStories #GroundZeroDaily YouTube tags: S Petchiammal, Muthu Master, Tamil Nadu woman disguised as man, woman lived as man for 36 years, single mother India story, real life India stories, human interest story India, viral India news, widow raises daughter alone, patriarchy survivor story, Katunayakkanpatti, Indian women true stories

Apeksha Shah liked thisApeksha Shah liked thisEveryone wants to look expensive. Very few want to pay expensive. That's the gap Snapdeal turned into a campaign. Instead of talking about discounts, prices, or offers, they sold something far more aspirational: 👉 Clothes that make people look twice. The insight is simple but powerful: People don't buy fashion because it's cheap. They buy it because of how it makes them feel—and how others react. Snapdeal's "Nazar Atak Jaaye" transforms that idea into an unforgettable visual. A quirky clinic treating people with "stuck necks" after being distracted by someone's outfit. Absurd? Yes. Memorable? Absolutely. The campaign proves one important marketing lesson: People remember emotions and stories long after they've forgotten discounts. Sometimes the best way to communicate value isn't by talking about price at all. It's by making your audience imagine the reaction they'll get. 📌 Brand: Snapdeal 🎯 Campaign: Nazar Atak Jaaye (2025) What's your rating for this campaign out of 10? We are told that following your passion makes you money, which makes you happy. But the most passionate people I know are simply content and at peace with who they are. 2/ Very few find their passion early in life. Most find it much later, if at all. The world convinces us that we should "pick" a passion as early as possible and then settle. I think all of your 20s should go towards discovering it. Don't settle. Explore. 3/ "Quit your job to follow your passion" is poor advice. Financial stability is important. Sacrifice it and you put the pressure of making money on your passion from day 1. Your passion then becomes your necessity. And ultimately dies. 4/ Passions don't come in templates. Stop looking for standard answers. Your context, your experiences, your habits, all of it makes a passion that is uniquely yours. Don't make someone else's passion yours. 5/ Failures point you to your passion more than successes do. When we fail, we look for solace. That is often when our real passions surface. What we gravitate towards. Where we can be ourselves, without pretending. Image via A Piece of Peace on Pinterest.

Apeksha Shah liked thisApeksha Shah liked thisSnabbit ,Pronto and Urban Company are inflating maid salaries. That’s the breaking news headline in every WhatsApp group in my locality right now. Apparently, with these platforms paying anywhere between 25–30K a month, suddenly everyone is struggling to find help. The tone is half outrage, half disbelief, with a pinch of “how did we get here?” Here’s my slightly inconvenient take. I’m glad to see the labour class finally earning a decent, dignified living. Long overdue. Just one request to the management of Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services - Now that we’re finally paying domestic workers what they deserve, could we please have a quick look at entry-level engineering salaries? Because it’s getting slightly hard to explain why someone should spend four years, a small fortune, and most of their sanity on an engineering degree only to compete with domestic help. I mean, come on! If this continues, Indian parents will not say “beta, engineer ban jao”. They will say “beta, Urban Company join kar lo. surge pricing bhi milta hai.” #poojasetia #joke #humor
