For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) patients, the phrase 'watch and wait' can create anxiety and uncertainty during active monitoring. To dispel this anxiety, this #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth we are committed to ensuring patients with CLL and their carers have access to clear and credible information. Collaborating with our panel of experts, including leading healthcare professionals, CLL patients and advocates, Jan Geissler, Christina Karamanidou, Jana Pelouchova, Lydia Scarfo and Peter Haggert, we are working to address the pressing challenges faced by those living with CLL. As leading contributors to the CLL Call-To-Action Report, the panel explored key areas of unmet need, and innovative approaches to care, emphasizing the emotional and practical support required to navigate active monitoring. Ensuring equity and access to innovation in oncology as BeOne Medicines’ SVP, Head of Europe
Today, I had the privilege of welcoming many valued guests to a networking event that felt both symbolic and deeply personal. Although I only joined BeOne in January this year, I’m inspired by the remarkable journey of the organization since 2018, when three colleagues in Basel laid the first stone of what is today our European office and company domicile, building the foundation for what comes next. Calling Basel our home, a city at the heart of Europe’s life sciences ecosystem, I’m struck by how much vision, hard work, and collaboration have shaped this journey and brought us to where we are today. The conversations yesterday reminded me that progress in oncology is never a solo effort. It takes scientists who imagine, governments who enable, clinicians who care, caregivers who support, advocates who amplify, and—above all—patients who inspire us every day. To everyone who joined us, thank you.
