SQLUpdate[conn,table,cols,data]

updates data in a table in an SQL connection.

SQLUpdate[conn,table,cols,data,cond]

updates the data matching cond.

SQLUpdate

SQLUpdate[conn,table,cols,data]

updates data in a table in an SQL connection.

SQLUpdate[conn,table,cols,data,cond]

updates the data matching cond.

Details and Options

  • To use SQLUpdate, you first need to load DatabaseLink using Needs["DatabaseLink`"].
  • Returns an integer specifying the number of rows affected by the query.
  • The following option can be given:
  • "Timeout"$SQLTimeoutthe timeout for the query

Wolfram Language code: conn = OpenSQLConnection["demo"];

Create a table and insert some data:

Wolfram Language code: SQLCreateTable[conn, SQLTable["TEST"], { SQLColumn["COL1", "DataTypeName" -> "INTEGER"], SQLColumn["COL2", "DataTypeName" -> "DOUBLE"] }];
Wolfram Language code: SQLInsert[conn, "TEST", {"COL1", "COL2"}, {10, 10.5}];
Wolfram Language code: SQLSelect[conn, "TEST"]

Update all the data:

Wolfram Language code: SQLUpdate[conn, "TEST", {"COL1", "COL2"}, {12, 12.5}]
Wolfram Language code: SQLSelect[conn, "TEST"]

Insert more data:

Wolfram Language code: SQLInsert[conn, "TEST", {"COL1", "COL2"}, {20, 20.5}];
Wolfram Language code: SQLSelect[conn, "TEST"]

Update only data matching a condition:

Wolfram Language code: SQLUpdate[conn, "TEST", {"COL1", "COL2"}, {4, 1.1}, SQLColumn["COL1"] < 15 ]
Wolfram Language code: SQLSelect[conn, "TEST"]
Wolfram Language code: SQLDropTable[conn, "TEST"];
Wolfram Language code: CloseSQLConnection[conn];
