How do I check Kiro usage activity?

Short description

You can check your own usage through account settings, the Kiro IDE status bar, or a Kiro Command Line Interface (CLI) command. To track usage for one or more users across your organization, use the Kiro console dashboard, per-user activity reports, or prompt logging.

Resolution

Prerequisites:

• You must have an active Kiro subscription. For more information, see Authentication.
• To access administrator features on the Kiro console, such as the dashboard, per-user reports, and prompt logging, you must have the administrator role.

Check your own usage

To check your own usage in Kiro Web, complete the following steps:

1. Open Kiro Web.
2. In the navigation pane, choose the user email address, and then choose Settings.
3. In the Estimated Usage section, review your current month's usage.

To check your own usage in Kiro IDE, view the status bar at the bottom of the IDE.

To check your own usage in Kiro CLI, run the /usage command in your Kiro CLI chat session.

Note: Your account settings show a month-to-date view of usage against your plan quotas, including overage charges. Usage comes from a single credit pool, so Kiro counts vibe and spec activity together.

Track usage across the organization

To track usage for individual users, teams, or your entire organization, take one or more of the following actions:

• View Kiro usage on the dashboard to get a summary of active users, used credits, and subscriptions.
  Note: Data refreshes hourly and shows information about the subscription tier and Kiro IDE, Kiro CLI, or Plugin client type.
• Activate per-user activity reports to audit usage, allocate licenses, or track credit and overage usage for chargeback and license optimization.
  Note: Every day, Kiro generates a report for each client type and delivers it to your Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) bucket as a CSV file. For information about what the report shows, see User activity report metrics.
• Activate prompt logging to track user prompts that you and other users enter in chat sessions for Kiro IDE, Kiro CLI, or Kiro Web. Use prompt logging for audits, compliance, or security reviews.

Export subscription and license details

To get information about your subscription and license, complete the following steps:

1. Open the Kiro console.
2. In the navigation pane, choose Users & Groups, and then choose the Subscriptions tab.
3. Choose Download CSV.
