What's the licence need to activate Windows sever 2022 with 2 vcpus in lightsail?

0

I want to use Windows Server 2022 Standard with 2 cores on my Lightsail instance with 2 RAM and 2 VCPUs, but the Microsoft website explains that we need a 16-core license.

If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it.

When you create a Windows Server 2022 instance in Amazon Lightsail, the Windows license is already included in the monthly price you pay for the instance. You don't need to purchase or provide your own Windows Server license separately.

Lightsail bundles include both the compute resources (vCPUs, memory, storage) and the Windows Server license fee in a single monthly price. For example, a Lightsail instance with 2GB memory and 2 vCPUs running Windows Server would cost $22 USD per month, which includes the Windows licensing.

The Microsoft licensing requirement of 16 cores that you mentioned would apply if you were bringing your own license (BYOL) to AWS EC2, but this is not applicable for standard Lightsail instances. Lightsail simplifies this process by including the appropriate licensing as part of the service.

If you need to upgrade from an existing Windows Server 2019 Lightsail instance to Windows Server 2022, note that in-place upgrades are not supported. Instead, you would need to create a new Windows 2022 Lightsail instance and migrate your applications and data to it.
