Business Dead
by Seller_iu1nTPby1L4jy

Since last week we have had 2 orders! Our usual number of sales is 10-12. We've had one sale on one of our sites and that's all. We sell on 4 sites. Just curious if anyone has had bad business like this for the last week. We saw this same pattern when tariffs were announced in March or April, even though we sell used books. We thought people were scared to buy books instead of groceries. Don't know the answer, but I know when yoyo tariffs (when he changed his mind every 5 min.) began business picked up a little. Maybe it is the August 1st deadline for tariffs to begin again, no matter what! Just curious about other sellers.

Amazon replied

The new FBA restock page will only show "Total Days of Supply" for the items Amazon recommends that I send in. Very often, these estimates are wrong, and by sorting my full inventory by this stat, I can see many items that Amazon estimates I have 60ish days left of inventory, but recent sales indicate I need to send more NOW to avoid a lapse of being out of stock between restock shipments.

Now that I am missing this information from ASIN that Amazon is not yet recommending I send in, I just know I am going to miss a bunch and get caught short. Often by the time Amazon notices I need to send more items in, I need to send them in THAT DAY to get them restocked in time before we run out.

I don't know why in the world the old FBA Restock page was changed. The new one lacks critical information and the layout is completely convoluted. I just need to know what is getting low so I can make my planning. This new page is a disaster for FBA inventory planning, especially right now when it is critical to get items in so they are ready for Christmas.

You slashed our FBA storage and made FBA storage fees so expensive that we had no choice but to create removal orders for thousands of units and send them back in through AWD.

It cost us TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars in fees to have this inventory removed and sent back in. Not to mention the labor hours of paying my workers to sort through and re-do work that was already done. Not to mention losing over a month of productivity because this is basically all we did instead of working on anything new.

(In the process, you LOST $14,000 worth of our inventory that was never even shipped back to us.)

NOW we are being told that AWD is at capacity. WHAT?! I thought one of the main selling points of AWD was that there were no capacity limits. (And we really haven't shipped that much in, about the same as we would normally ship directly to FBA, only we're routing it through AWD because WE THOUGHT THAT IS WHAT YOU WANTED)

This is insane. We literally cannot seem to make any positive progress this year and you keep changing the rules.

Every other week there is a change. Another item that is restricted, another change in fees, another change in logistics, another wrench thrown in our ability to make any strategic plans.

WHY DON'T YOU TELL US WHAT YOU WANT?!

Do you WANT us to do FBA or not? Do you want us to use AWD? Do you want us to focus on self-fulfillment?

You could encourage any one of those behaviors by making any one of them EASIER. But all you do is make ALL OF THEM HARDER.

Do you want us to just quit and go away?

TELL US WHAT YOU WANT.

Sales are down by 20% already this year without all the other curveballs you keep throwing our way.

Book is selling more than the copies we sent in
by Seller_4aDmaIuVmcTvI
Amazon replied

We are new to Amazon, we sent in a used book and it sold yesterday, since then, this same book has sold 8 more times all showing on our account. I don't know what to do because we are new, I don't want to pay those fees because we only ever had one copy that we sent in. Any help, advice would be great. Thanks.

Hey guys,

My FBA inventory dashboard appears to be off its rocker. A lot of the data is missing, things like sales over last 30 days, current on hand inventory, inbound units, etc...

Is anyone else having this issue?

Extremely frustrated right now and hoping others have found solutions or can share similar experiences.

Amazon is blocking me from sending inventory on 39 ASINs (and counting!) due to "high days of supply" - but their calculations are completely ignoring seasonality and historical sales data. How are we supposed to prepare for Q4 when Amazon won't let us send the inventory we actually need?

The Numbers Don't Lie

Last year during Nov/Dec, we sold 111,000 units for this particular brand. That's literally 5x our normal monthly volume. But Amazon's system is apparently calculating days of supply based on recent slow-season sales, completely ignoring the massive Q4 surge that happens every single year.

I know my business better than an algorithm does. I have the historical data. I know what sells and when it sells. But I'm being prevented from acting on that knowledge.

The Problem is Growing

What started as an issue with 39 ASINs is clearly expanding. This number keeps growing as more products hit whatever threshold triggers these restrictions. Half the time the days of supply calculations with current sales rates are also completely wrong. At this rate, I'll be blocked from sending inventory on most of my catalog before Q4 even starts.

The Real Impact

This isn't just about inconvenience - and it's not just 39 ASINs anymore. This is about:

Lost revenue during the most critical selling period

Getting hit with low inventory fees when they inevitably go out of stock

The growing scope - what happens when this hits 100+ ASINs?

What I've Tried

Submitted seller support case with detailed historical sales data

Explained seasonal patterns and Q4 preparation needs

Provided documentation showing the 5x November/December multiplier

Still waiting for response...

Questions for the Community

Has anyone successfully gotten these restrictions removed? What worked?

Are there specific keywords or approaches that get seller support's attention?

How do you handle new products with no sales history but similar seasonal patterns?

Is there an escalation process beyond standard seller support?

Why This System is Broken

The days of supply calculation works fine for steady-state products, but it's completely inadequate for:

Seasonal businesses

Holiday-focused products

Gift categories

Back-to-school items

Any product with predictable demand spikes

We're being penalized for having seasonal businesses.

Looking for Solutions

Time is running out for Q4 prep. Every day these restrictions stay in place makes it less likely we'll have inventory when customers want to buy.

If you've dealt with this successfully, please share what worked. If you're in the same boat, let's figure this out together.

We are now at a loss here. Amazon charges low inventory fees on ASINs with low FBA inventory. But when trying to replenish inventory of ASINs that have low FBA inventory, we are getting the following message: "You have high days of supply for this SKU in our fulfillment centers. Remove this SKU from the shipment. For more information, go to Managing FBA product level shipment restrictions. Consider alternative low cost warehousing and storage solutions such as Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD), subject to available capacity. "

This is insane. This is a losing battle.

To resolve the issue, we tried chatting with Customer Support but all we received are pre-canned responses. The representative did not even read what we were saying. He just obviously cutting and pasting from a script. And then he ended the conversation by saying "I also have other customers waiting to be attended. I will therefore proceed to disconnect this chat as of now.

I understand that many sellers are experiencing the same issue.

I hope Amazon explains what is going on and gives guidance to sellers.
