Anna Maria Manalo is an author of fiction and nonfiction books in the genre of supernatural and historical suspense. She is a self-taught screenwriter and travel photographer who has visited over 27 countries and has amassed accounts of a paranormal nature from locals and tourists alike. A former researcher and field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network, she starred under the name “Elisa Simon” in episode two of the pilot Discovery Channel’s “UFO’s Over Earth” in 2008.
Anna Maria has been a guest in over 35 podcasts, including Jim Harold’s Campfire Radio, Darkness Radio with Dave Schrader, Coast to Coast AM with Connie Willis, Night Dreams Talk Radio with Gary Anderson, Paul Bestall of Mysteries and Monsters, Arcane Radio with Lon Strickler, Paranormal UK Radio with Chris Evers, Late Light in the Midlands, Exploring the Bizarre and UFO Topic among others.
Anna Maria’s first screenplay, “The Tulpa Effect” ranked #6 in the TOP TEN horror/thriller category of Script Vamp’s Dream Quest Screenplay Competition of 2012. The same screenplay was also a Quarter Finalist at the 2011 Page International Screenwriting Awards of 2011 and earned Third Round Finalist at AAA Screenwriting contest in the same year. This screenplay has been retitled “FROM WITHIN ME” and is available by request.
Anna Maria was an October/December Finalist at The Writers’ Place Screenplay Competition for her science fiction horror script, “Anomaly“.
In 2013, Fade-In Awards placed her science fiction action adventure script, “Uncharted Darkness” as a Quarter Finalist.

judge’s critique in the “Strongly Consider” category for its “powerful use of subtext” and “effective handling of difficult subject matter.”
A trained therapist and former school counselor, Anna Maria’s exploration into the realm of ghosts, entities and the unknown were inspired by her own extensive life experiences in the realm of the supernatural while living in the suburb of San Juan in the Philippines: An entire neighborhood where homes were build on the bones of Japanese soldiers and tortured civilians.
