Amazon Prime Day deals on TVs, iPads, laptops and more are available to shop today — Everything you need to know about Big Deal Days

Here's everything you need to know to make the most of the sale.

Updated

The mornings are darker, the air's a little crisper and your wallet knows what's coming: Amazon Big Deal Days. This two-day sales event, better known as October Prime Day, is just around the corner, and it's shaping up to deliver some of the best Prime Day deals of the season.

Forget the kitchen gadgets and robot vacuums for now — this guide is for the tech crowd. If you've ever waxed poetic about which HDR format is better or if your group text regularly devolves into iPhone vs. Android debates, this is where you'll want to pay attention. TVs, laptops, tablets, headphones and AirPods are all on the table, often at prices you don't see outside major shopping holidays.

Mark your calendar: Tuesday, October 7th, and Wednesday, October 8th. Amazon is lining up two full days of rare tech discounts from Apple, Samsung, Sony, Bose and other heavy hitters. We'll be tracking every Lightning Deal and price drop as it lands, but you don't have to wait — there are already some solid early deals worth shopping right now.

New and notable early Prime Day deals for the weekend include the iPad A16 dropping back down to $299 and the iPad Air dropping to $499 (both with on-screen coupons), representing a $50 and $100 savings versus buying these tablets at the Apple Store right now.

If you don't like that feeling of having something wedged in your ear and don't need active noise cancellation, these buds are the way to go. How are they different from the previous generation? The shorter stem gives them a cleaner look, and the new quick-press controls mean no more fumbling to pause your tunes or take a call. Plus, they fit better and stay put, so you won't have to keep adjusting them while you're at the gym or running to catch the train.

"I decided to upgrade from my AirPods 2 and I'm impressed!" a happy listener wrote. "Sound quality is great! Wow! They don't feel like they're going to fall out of my ears and [are] very comfortable."

The newest iPad is an ultra-light, thin tablet that's powerful enough to replace your laptop for most tasks but slips into your bag with room to spare. With a spacious 11-inch Liquid Retina display, you're swiping and scrolling in vibrant color and sharpness that makes any screen that came before it feel like an old tube TV. It's also our pick for the overall best iPad for most users.

Why? Well, this iPad is ready to keep up with whatever you throw its way. If you've got a habit of toggling among a dozen apps, streaming videos and replying to messages simultaneously, you're in for a treat. And if you're into gaming, the graphics capabilities mean you can play even demanding games without dropping a frame.

It's been years since I stopped plugging my phone in at night, instead setting it down on a wireless charger that's plugged in next to my nightstand. That said, some nights it isn't sitting just right and I wake up to a dead phone. Not so with a MagSafe charger. Not only is this one $20, but it's just a $1 more than the 1m long version, which means you won't be stretching the cable just to plug it in to the outlet. Need one that can fast-charge? It's just $5 more.

Sometimes you just want an affordable TV that does its job and does it well. That's what you get with the Amazon Fire TV line, and this 50-inch model is down to $260. This matches its lowest-ever price that we last saw earlier this year.

As its name suggests, this TV runs on Amazon's Fire TV platform, so you have access to all of the smart TV apps you could want. It also features a 4K screen with HDR to keep movies looking crisp. If you have a lot of Amazon devices around your home, it'll also work great with Alexa skills and smart home automations.

For about the price of a movie ticket and a popcorn, the Fire Stick 4K offers quick and easy access to more content than you'll ever be able to watch in a lifetime. We're talking 1.5 million TV shows and movies at your fingertips.

The Apple Watch Series 11 has barely been on shelves for a week, and it's already seeing a rare $10 discount. That might not sound like much, but Apple gear rarely dips below MSRP this soon after launch.

The Series 11 builds on the previous model with a brighter always-on display, a more scratch-resistant screen and improved sleep tracking. And you're still getting all-day (up to 24 hours) battery life, 64GB of storage and the full suite of health and fitness sensors. If you're coming from a Series 9 or earlier, these upgrades — plus the chance to save a little right out of the gate — make it worth a serious look.

Yes, the AirPods Pro 3 have arrived. But the Pro 2 are still available at a lower price. More than 10,000 Amazon shoppers snapped up these earbuds in the past month, so calling them a customer favorite is an understatement (they're sitting comfortably in my ears as I write this). They come with more features than you may expect given the tiny package: active noise cancellation, transparency mode, USB-C charging and a snug, customizable fit.

"The noise cancellation amazed me," said this shopper. "I have a window A/C unit to cool my office, and when I put these in, I thought it turned off. It took me two or three times of taking them in and out of my ear to realize the headphones were eliminating the sound."

The Iniu charger usually goes for $30, making it a juicy 38% off. Compared to similar power banks, this is an absolute steal, especially for something with 10,000 mAh of power. And this is just above the best price ever, so no need to look elsewhere.

You really can't beat $99 for a 40-inch TV, as long as you are okay with the basics. While it's only a 1080p TV (no 4K, sadly), the discount on this Insignia model makes it the same price as its 32-inch sibling. Not a bad deal for an extra eight inches.

You won't get the world's best picture quality here, but that's fine at this price. You do, however, get access to Fire TV apps, which means you can stream content from any service you can think of. With Amazon Alexa built in, you can also control the TV and nearby smart home gadgets using only your voice.

If a sleek design is at the top of your tablet wishlist, the latest iPad Air is the perfect fit. Equipped with Apple's powerful M3 chip, it offers all-day battery life, a stunning 12-megapixel camera, and a Liquid Retina display that makes movies and TV shows pop. Meanwhile, the all-new iPadOS 26 operating system adds full-on windowing, so you can use it more like a real computer (if you so choose).

"The screen resolution is really beautiful," wrote one impressed shopper. "It's lighter in weight than my old one and a little thinner. The camera takes gorgeous pictures."

Thanks to AirTags, I can track my bags from drop-off to the plane to the luggage carousel. And even when the worst happens, and my bags end up in Orlando when I'm in Michigan (true story), I know where they are and how to find them.

"First, we bought one Apple AirTag for my husband's wallet. Then we bought a second one for his car keys," said this repeat buyer. "Now, we have a four-pack, which is cheaper, for our golf bags and checked roller bags."

This highly rated (and reasonably priced) telly is the one Goldilocks would likely opt for; not too big, not too small, just right. High-def resolution and Dolby Digital Audio help enhance the viewing experience with clear picture and sound, and you'll have easy access to all of your favorite streaming platforms in one place. At just $180, this price matches the TV's lowest of the year.

Looking for the best of the best? Speaking as someone who has used one every workday for the past 13 years, a MacBook Pro is likely exactly what you're looking for. This one — also at its best price to date — was released just a few months ago and comes with some of the latest features, like Apple Intelligence and the advanced M4 chip. It also has a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display, one of the crispest in the entire MacBook lineup.

"This laptop will last a decade. The battery lasts forever. I do mild development work for my job, and this laptop is capable of handling all the Python code without issue," said this snake handler. "This is perfect for students, professionals and more."

If you want to save a little on an Apple wearable, the Series 10 is still worth the investment. It boasts an always-on Retina display and comes with useful features like ECG apps, a fitness tracker and more. And while the Series 11 has just been released, it sports the same processor, same design and nearly all of the same features. In other words, you're getting the bulk of the 2025 Apple Watch here, but at the 2024 discount.

"I upgraded from a Series 5," said this watch wearer. "The battery life is phenomenal, I can literally go two days without charging. When I do have to charge it, it's full in about 30 minutes. The price is on par for the quality. The health sensors are nice. I know I have sleep apnea and never got around to taking care of it. The watch notified me after about a month of use and provides data to bring in to the doctor's office."

The 2023-released SE has everything you need, from trackers for your heart rate and steps to crash detection, and nothing you don't. So if you've been waiting for an Apple Watch to go on sale, this deal is for you. The price is unlikely to drop any further until holiday sales begin.

Amazon's 4K Fire TV stick may have jumped back up in price, but at under $30 this Roku is a downright steal, including a voice remote that also controls your TV, so you can forget about having to use multiple remotes at once anymore. It wasn't long after buying my first house that I learned that the no-name drill that was the entirety of my tool set wasn't going to cut it (of course it wouldn't, I would need a saw for cutting). This DeWalt set isn't cheap, but it's way less than buying each of these tools piecemeal, which I can assure you, will happen. (That's what I did. Don't be like me.) Each of these tools end up costing you less than $80 apiece in this combo, and the carrying cases, two batteries and charger will keep everything organized and powered for when you need it.

October Prime Day FAQs

You've got Prime Day questions? We've got Prime Day answers:

When is October Prime Day 2025?

Amazon Prime Big Deals Days will only run for two days (as opposed to the four-day event in July). The sale kicks off on Tuesday, October 7th, and continues through Wednesday, October 8th. Make sure you set a reminder so you don't miss out on the biggest deals (and if this summer's sale is any indicator, the best deals will go fast).

What will be on sale during October Prime Day?

Amazon is pretty tight-lipped about what markdowns we can expect once the sale kicks off; however, previous Prime Day events have proven to be some of the best times of the year to score all-time low prices on tech. We usually see major price drops on Apple products, as well as Amazon's own in-house gadgets, like Ring doorbells and Fire TV sticks. (Pro tip: Amazon is apparently announcing more new devices on September 30th, so the company may be prepping to clear even more space in its warehouses.) It's also a good idea to get a head start on gift shopping, so you're not scrambling in a couple of months. Why not check some names off your list before you've even opened your first bag of Halloween candy?

Do I need to have an Amazon Prime membership?

If you're not a Prime member, you won't miss out completely — there will be deals that non-Prime members will be able to take advantage of, too. That said, most of the best Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members, so having a subscription will help you make the most of the event. Thankfully, signing up can't possibly be easier, and new members can even opt for a free 30-day trial (after which, you'll be charged $139 each year — don't worry, you can cancel any time).

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.)
