I was informed this kind of govt censorship pressure was banned by a recent Executive Order...it should be. But it was never about free speech.

Important marker of how much the Overton Window has shifted in five years: FCC apparatchik goes from acknowledging the concept of liberty to fully, gleefully eviscerating it. The State-->corporate censorship machine should terrify everyone. Liberty is thin on the ground today.

Should the government censor speech it doesn’t like? Of course not. The FCC does not have a roving mandate to police speech in the name of the “public interest.” usatoday.com/story/opinion/…

Truly *institutional* neutrality is one thing. This is not that. This is…a hamfisted & censorious way to sanitize dissent on campus. Barnard admin really prepared to play thought police with faculty doors and bios? …where else?

New faculty guidelines from Barnard College at Columbia University. Professors are not allowed to post signs on their door "that support a geopolitical view or perspective". When talking about "geopolitical views or perspectives", faculty must talk about both sides.
Some examples of activities that violate this community expectation include: Messaging from the president of Barnard College or any division or department supporting a geopolitical viewpoint or perspective while denigrating or remaining silent about an opposing geopolitical viewpoint or perspective. Employees posting signs on their office doors supporting a geopolitical viewpoint or perspective. Employees supporting a campaign for a candidate on their Barnard webpage profile.

Multiple legislative sources say that Governor Hochul’s new offer to law makers is to raid the general fund for up to a billion dollars to patch up the capital plan, and then to find a congestion pricing revenue replacement when legislators come back in 2025
