40 Ukrainian schoolchildren from 9th-11th grade attended my lecture on career orientation in the gaming industry. The clickbait title, "I didn't go to game design school, I went to... games," gathered about 70 registrations. And the lecture itself was a huge success 😏 Ukrainian education, despite a deep crisis, is alive. And Ukrainian kids are mega kids 🇺🇦 My presentation lasted 37 minutes. And for almost AN HOUR after that, I was answering questions from students who were eagerly absorbing knowledge and advice. I've already had time to reflect, so here are my TOP 8 takeaways from Friday's discussions. I hope you find them interesting. 1. 🇬🇧 English is a must. Ensuring all children are fluent in English is the duty of the state and teachers. 2. 📈 Take something you're good at, combine it with something you're interested in, do it every day, and report the results to people around you. You will be successful. I guarantee it. Good at cooking and love games? Cook food from games and post recipes on TikTok every day. You will be successful. It's simple. 3. 🫂 People are the greatest inspiration. Be among those who inspire and support you. Don't be among the critics - those lazy bums are useless. 4. 🫶 Your environment is key. Surround yourself with people, even virtually, who have already walked the path you are about to take. The right environment = results. 5. 💫 Be noticeable in your environment. And your environment will help you achieve your goal. Comment, ask questions, seek knowledge, and like-minded people. 6. 👶 Stay a kid as long as possible. Kids don't have "That's impossible!" They only have "How?" 7. 🥦 If you want to create something, consume. You are the content you eat. Consume quality content - and you will be able to create quality content. The uniqueness of content comes from the uniqueness of the creator. 8. 💸 Good content must be paid for. Only supporting quality content with money guarantees the availability of quality content in the future. Well, and I was once again convinced that I absolutely love teaching. I find it very comfortable and engaging. And judging by the feedback, it seems to be working out great, duh ❤️
