London ACM SIGGRAPH

What a lovely last week it was! I had the privilege to not only attend the #RainbowConference2025 organized by London ACM SIGGRAPH, but also got the opportunity to volunteer for it and be a part of a gorgeous team that helped out with the event. So many thanks to the London ACM SIGGRAPH team, Beata Parczewska, and Boyan Georgiev, for providing such an incredible experience. Apart from volunteering, I was able to attend several fantastic presentations and workshops organized by brilliant studios and individuals. Kate Gabriel's presentation on No.8's work on the new Chivas Regal x Ferrari advertisement was fantastic, and I enjoyed seeing their iterations and breakdowns to produce a work of perfection. BlueBolt's incredible work on Nosferatu, as well as learning about the work that went into some of the most breathtaking shots that the team created for the film. And I was personally blown away by Nexus Studios' work on the, visually stunning "experience films" for the Sphere in Las Vegas, which were created in partnership with UFC. I could go on and on about the action packed roster of talks at the conference, but I am absolutely lost for words 🤩 and feel inspired by every single one of them. Last but not least, I thoroughly enjoyed Hijaz Ahamed's workshop during the conference and am excited to begin working with the new Houdini21 release. Thank you for walking us through the major updates that the staff behind the scenes over at #SideFX has been working on diligently. I look forward to future events like these and hope to apply what I've learned to better my talents 💪. Kate Gabriel recently spoke and organised at Rainbow Conference (London ACM SIGGRAPH), where she shared insights in her talk “Beyond the Frame: VFX in Advertising.” Accompanied by Chris Kiser, who joined a panel about global opportunities and the importance of diversity with ACCESS: VFX. Post-production and VFX are essential in bringing bold ideas to life, whether it’s adding subtle polish or building entire worlds that don’t exist. At No.8, that means balancing creativity with planning, problem-solving under pressure, and always finding ways to deliver the final pixel with impact. Kate took the audience behind the scenes of several projects, sharing how our team approaches challenges, stays positive under tight deadlines, and celebrates achievements together. A big thank you to everyone who joined the session, it was a pleasure to highlight the creativity, teamwork, and resilience that drive this industry forward.
