A very solid phone, which in my opinion manages to narrow the price-performance gap to more mainstream options a fair bit, especially when considering its long support window and great repairability. I only have two points of criticism: The downgrade to a USB-2 socket (though this barely affects my personal use), and the flimsy feeling and somewhat awkwardly placed volume buttons. I have the phone in a case which covers them, so I don't expect that they will fall out, as has apparently happened to some people. Still, they really should be better. But other than that, it's a phone I would (and likely will) have no trouble recommending. I'd also note that the OS (stock Android for the time being) seems well optimised and doesn't appear to have significant issues or glitches, which older models sometimes suffered from.

Exactly what I wanted. The switch is big and visible and turns on flashlight for me. Looks sturdy and repariable and has an sd card reader. Android needs to be updated to add a 3rd option to password unlock an encrypted sdcard, since both sdcard formatting methods from google are unacceptable... Fairphone get that done please!

Switched from a very old iphone. Been waiting for an ethical option that would function with any carrier here in the US. It's been everything one would want in a smartphone without adding to the suffering in the world. Not a difficult platform to learn. I don't see any real reason to have the "essentials" mode switch on the side of the phone, but it doesn't get in the way of anything either.

I'm very happy with the fairphone 6+ , I have had a Motorola phone for a while but was disappointed about the battery replacement, ease of replacement parts available and security updates that only last 5 yrs, this phone fixes all of those problems. Just only a 2 things that could be fixed in future? One is a pop up of an option to change over to e/os or murena os and stop Google from automatically updating the phone as I have tried the manual and the step by step guide but Google had prevented me due to updated security they have. The second one is more accessories in future? I'd like to have a camera cover so that the lens don't get dirty less often or a phone stand on the back Overall 10/10! Keep up the good work

I upgraded from a 5 year old FP3 to a brand new FP6+. It's definitely an improvement but I'm still finding that it has problems sometimes such as not connecting to the internet when it says Wi-Fi is connected. I think I've had to restart my phone much more often. Hoping it'll be fixed in an upcoming Android update.

Id love to review this phone. But alas I cannot. UPS failed to deliver it on the date that they advised, and I have since been away on business. UPS have refused to hold it until I am back, so I fear I won't receive it at all. I'm sure the phone I great, Fairphone's choice of courrier however leaves much to be desired.

This phone is pretty good. The camera is very decent and the battery holds up pretty well, as long as you don't play games with high graphics on it. My favourite feature is the physical switch on the side of the phone, which lets you disconnect for as long as you need. I am very satisfied with it. 10/10 would recommend.

The smartphone is exactly what I expected. It’s fast, the camera works flawlessly, the screen is responsive, and the microphone and speakers work well. The only issue I’ve found is that the app icons, which are grouped together, stick out from the group.

This is a generally OK Android phone. The camera is a bit slow to process and the auto-adjusting screen brightness is far too sensitive to be usable. The reason I've given such a low score is because I'm left-handed and the phone's fingerprint reader is on the button on the right-hand side, rather than on the screen. This makes it difficult for to pull it out of my pocket and unlock it one-handed. The volume buttons are on the left-hand side of the phone and I squeeze them with the side of my thumb when I lock the phone. This double press opens the shutdown menu and I repeatedly come close to turning my phone off when I just want to lock it.

I bought this phone three weeks ago and it’s been the worst phone I’ve ever had! Tragic as I am a major supporter of ethical shopping. So many problems with it! Own apps not working (e.g. had to disable ‘Essentials’ as it was permanently locking me out of my phone) and video sometimes fails to record the visual component (I get a black screen but can hear the audio). I really regret having spent so much money on this

I got this phone about two weeks ago. It is working very well. I love that I can put an SD card in it. The size fits perfectly in my hand, and the color is great. The camera feels about the same as the Samsung S21 Ultra I had. The processor keeps up with the Roms and games I play like brotato. I love having a physical switch to software disable the mice and camera. I would definitely recommended this phone especially to someone who has a history of breaking phones. You won't have the most powerful phone but you should save a lot of money in the long term.

I'm generally satisfied with the phone, though it still needs a little more to be a no-brainer in terms of the competition. My biggest gripe is the stock Android experience. I come from Samsung, and really liked OneUI's clarity and style balance. Stock Android feels like a children's toy with style-over-substance and next-to-no customizability. Speakers are another weak point imo. Very weak low frequencies and not a lot of volume. My Samsung A52s, which is not an expensive phone at all, sounded significantly better in comparison. I really wish the IP rating was just a tad higher. I want the confidence knowing that my phone won't die if I accidentally drop it in a bathtub or even a puddle :( Everything else in the phone is quite satisfactory, however. Screen is great, battery life is great, cameras are good (selfie camera is great actually!), size is bigger than a normal phone in this category, but I'm not gonna pretend like it's massive, or any bigger than said phone with a case. It's a miniscule price to pay for repairability. I really hope Fairphone follows in Framework's shoes and releases new parts that are backwards-compatible. I'd love if I could, at some point down the line, upgrade my speakers or cameras. I also really hope that Fairphone looks into ways to improve the OS. It's a decent-to-good phone to buy at the current day, and is just a couple steps behind its peers.

Phone works great. Unfortunatwly, I had to go with the Android version. This is not Fairphone's fault, but Android 16 is making thinga unnecessarily complocated and limits choices. Making it easier to install /e/ would go a long way, so people could try it out. Or please Fairphone and give us a launcher tjat follows your model - modular and with tje option to remove stuff like AI and search bars. Phone is nice othwrwise. The only thing that needs improvement are the cameras. I like the natural colors, but sharpness in distance is nonexistent. That could be fixed.

The phone is glitchy! Everything from not responding to finger touch despite having adjusted the sensitivity to just trying to reply to this email. You can click on the stars, but then it doesn’t open up a new page so that you can type anything in this box. I am now using my old phone in order to respond. No keyboard no nothing. The phone doesn’t always respond to touch. It also does weird things with its alarms and everything is functionally slower than it should be. I have had to use AI to ask questions about how to fix things because nothing is intuitive on the Google set up or on the hardware settings. I’m gonna give it one more week before I return it.

Works as well as my previous Pixel 4a and 7 out of the box. The blue/purple color is fun and fingerprint sensor is pretty nice. Also, I love that the bootloader can be unlocked so I can run CalyxOS or even a Linux server one day.

A few weeks into ownership: the difference in tech specs vs competition is not very noticeable; all phones over $300-400 are so good these days that I'm very happy to have purchased based on ethics rather than bells and whistles. The ease of repair will surely be a bonus in a few years; I bought a new phone because I dropped my previous after all, and replacing the screen would be nearly $300. I do recommend this phone. Also, I flashed eos myself, very happy with that too. Privacy in short supply these days. And I love the switch that disables the camera and mic. A lot to love here.

I like the expandable storage, the finger print scanner,and repairability. However, I had the phone for a week, barely got to touch it cause I can't transfer my esim over for another 10 months apparently, and kept it in the box most of the time. During that time, one of the volume buttons got stuck and it seems like there is no way to fix that part on our own easily, so I got to send it in. That kinda broke an illusion for me about how repairable or sturdy this phone is. But I'll keep an eye on everything with hopes this issue is solved in the future, but for now, I'm not sure I can keep the phone even if it gets fixed.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and while many things are intuitive and nice. I cannot use this phone for what I need. The Wi-Fi connectivity is atrocious and is prone to disconnecting at random times. Additionally, I couldn't use certain applications like Microsoft Teams or Twitch because it fails to refresh properly. Because of this, I've decided to return it within the 14 days of using it.
