Your WordPress.com Reader profile is your public presence in the Reader, where other logged-in users can see your published posts, your sites, and your achievements. This guide explains how to open your profile settings and control your profile details.
To control your Reader profile, take the following steps:
- Log in to your WordPress.com account.
- In the admin bar at the top of your screen, click the reading glasses icon at the top right to open the Reader:

- In the Reader sidebar on the left, click “Reader Profile”.
- Click the Settings tab.
Logged-in WordPress.com users can view your profile at https://wordpress.com/reader/users/{your-username}. Logged-out visitors are prompted to log in before they can see it.
The Profile section controls three details on your public profile:
- Profile picture: Your profile picture comes from your Gravatar. To change or hide it, see Manage your Gravatar.
- Display name: The name shown on your profile.
- About: A short bio shown on your public profile.
After editing these fields, click Save.
The Profile tabs section controls which tabs appear on your public profile. To show or hide a tab, turn on the toggle for each tab you want to show, or turn it off to hide it:
- Show Posts tab: The Posts tab shows the posts you’ve published.
- Show Sites tab: The Sites tab shows the sites you choose to display.
- Show Achievements tab: The Achievements tab shows the badges you’ve earned.
As the profile owner, you always see all of your own tabs, even the ones you’ve hidden. When you hide a tab from your public profile, its name appears grayed out for you and is not visible at all to other users:

The Sites section controls which of your sites appear on the Sites tab of your profile. To choose which sites appear:
- On the Settings tab, find the Sites section.
- Turn on the “Visible on profile” toggle next to each site you want to show.
- To show every site, click “Select all”.
