This help page provides information about returning items fulfilled by Amazon AU.
Change of Mind Returns
If you are returning an item pursuant to the Change of Mind Returns Policy, you can return the item to Amazon AU using an eligible return option displayed in our Online Return Center (see below for more details). If a pre-paid return option is not available for your return, ship the item to us with a carrier that is convenient for you using the self-ship label provided. We recommend that you use a trackable delivery service. Please retain any tracking information given to you by the carrier.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not return items directly to the Amazon Fulfillment centres. Instead, follow Amazon's return process for all returns as detailed below.
- Prepaid Returns: Prepaid return options differ depending on the size of your item.
- If your item is not a large item and you return it using a pre-paid return option, and the reason for return is change of mind pursuant to the Change of Mind Returns Policy, a return shipping fee of $7 will be deducted from your refund amount. If the total value of the item(s) you have returned using a single pre-paid label or code is less than $7, there will be no refund credited to your original payment method for that return.
- If your return is for Large Items where the order is fulfilled by Amazon AU and the order is returned from an address in metro Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and the return is for change of mind pursuant to the Change of Mind Returns Policy, a return shipping fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund amount.
- Self ship: Self-ship return options differ depending on the size of your item;
- If you return your item using a self-ship return option and the reason for return is change of mind pursuant to the Change of Mind Returns Policy, you will not receive a refund for the return shipping costs.
- If your return is for a Large Item returned via self-ship and the return is for change of mind pursuant to the Change of Mind Returns Policy, you are responsible for paying the return shipping cost upfront directly to the carrier. You can contact Amazon’s customer service to present the receipt and we will refund you the return shipping costs minus a return shipping fee of $50.
Faulty Items Returns
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not return items directly to the Amazon Fulfillment centres. Instead, follow Amazon's return process for all returns as detailed below.
If you have purchased an item that was fulfilled by Amazon AU that is faulty, you may return it to us in two ways:
- If you are returning an item within 30 days from it being delivered, you can return the item to us using the Online Returns Centre; or
- If you are returning an item after more than 30 days of it being delivered, please Contact Us so we can determine if you are entitled to a remedy, including under the Australian Consumer Law. You can request a phone call or instantly chat with us by clicking the “Contact Us” link and selecting “Something else” and then “Contact Us”.
- Prepaid: Prepaid return options differ depending on the size of your item;
- If you return your item using a pre-paid return option and the reason for return is the result of an Amazon AU error or a faulty item, you will not be charged any return shipping fees.
- If your return is for Large Items shipped by Amazon AU and you are returning from an address in metro Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and reason for the return is the result of Amazon AU error or a faulty item, you will not be charged any return shipping fees.
- Self-ship: If you ship the item to us on your own and the reason for return is the result of an Amazon AU error, a faulty item or, if we have agreed to bear the return shipping costs (for example, in case of Free Returns), your refund will automatically include up to $17 in return shipping fees. If you incur additional shipping fees or repackaging costs self-shipping an item back to us for faulty items returns, you will need to Contact Us and provide evidence to us to substantiate the reasonable costs incurred. For example, if you return a faulty item to us and pay $50 in shipping costs, we will automatically include an additional $17 in your refund. You will then need to contact us so we can assess your claim for the additional $33 in return shipping fees. You can request a phone call or instantly chat with us by clicking the “Contact Us” link and selecting “Something else” and then “Contact us”.
To initiate a return, follow the steps:
- Click here to start a Return.
- Choose the items to return.
- Enter quantity, select a reason, and add comments.
- Click "Continue," then:

For Amazon AU items, select a return option.

For third-party seller items, click "Submit Return Request."

- Choose your return method. A return label or code will be generated.
- Print your pre-paid label and return authorisation and send the item back to us.

Best practices for package returns
- When you return a third-party seller item, use the packaging that your order arrived in or packaging with similar dimensions. Avoid using over-sized boxes or packaging. If the product required assembly, disassemble the item first.
- Unless otherwise stated, all product packaging and certificates of authenticity, grading and appraisal must be returned with the product.
- If you return product(s) that are ineligible for Free Returns with product(s) that are eligible for Free Returns, Amazon AU may deduct the return shipping costs for the ineligible products(s) from your refund amount in accordance with Amazon AU's returns policy.
- Amazon AU's Change of Mind Return Policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Please see our Returning Faulty Items policy for more information.
- Original shipping fees are not refunded under Free Returns shipping. In addition, some special item, order, or handling fees may still apply.
- There are some items on Amazon.com.au that can't be returned. Please check if your order is eligible for return.
