U.S. Backs Rare Earths in Madagascar to Break China’s Monopoly

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is investing $4.84 million in a project to harvest rare earth minerals from Madagascar as part of a strategy to break Communist China’s near-monopoly on supplying minerals that are crucial for advanced electronics and electric vehicles (EVs).
