Since its start in 2015, Away has cultivated a devoted following of its sleek, minimalistic luggage. Now the brand is expanding into a younger fanbase with the launch of its first Away collection just for kids. The collection consists of four items for children, including a smaller version of its carry-on luggage, with the aim of making traveling an easier affair for the whole family.

For the collection, Away scaled down its iconic carry-on luggage to a kid-friendly size, offering it in five vibrant hues, including Cotton Candy Pink and Froggy Green. The collection also includes packing cubes, a backpack and lunch box, all in coordinating bright shades for a cohesive travel set.
While the bright color-block designs are a departure from Away’s typical muted tones, the Kids Carry-On is virtually the same design as the brand’s regular carry-on options, just smaller. It features the same polycarbonate shell, smooth-gliding wheels and interior compression system that we love in its adult bags. In fact, the Away Bigger Carry-On is our tested best carry-on luggage overall. The Kids Carry-On offers enough space for kids to pack everything they need for longer getaways (five to seven days), but its lightweight design lends it well to shorter travels too, like a quick trip to visit the grandparents—and lets kids pull their own bag. It is similar in price to our current top pick for the best kids luggage: the State Logan Carry-On.
Prices in the collection range from $40 for the lunch box and packing cubes to $225 for the carry-on. Take a look at the full collection below.
With smooth 360-degree strolling wheels and a two-position telescoping handle—plus a shorter stature than typical carry-on luggage at 17.2 inches high—kids should have an easy time maneuvering the new Away Kids Carry-On luggage through the airport and wherever your family is traveling this summer. It includes the brand’s lightweight polycarbonate shell, a TSA-approved lock, drawstring laundry bag and Away’s well-regarded compression system, promising to stow six to ten children’s outfits. Let them select which of the five color combos they like best, and monogramming is available, too.

Away The Kids Backpack
The Kids Backpack from Away is made for travel with two easy-to-access side pockets, tablet sleeve and a chest strap that doubles as the bag’s trolley sleeve. Keep in mind this nylon backpack is just 13.6 inches tall, meaning its more the size of a toddler or preschooler backpack—or great for a big kid who wants to pack lightly with their in-flight personal item. It weighs just under a pound, making it easier for little shoulders to tote around, and is available in three colors that coordinate with the rest of the collection.
